Stephen George Clark
Age 87, of Rice Lake, WI, died Thursday, January 8, 2026 in Rice Lake surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 1, 1938 in South Beloit, IL to Charles and Retta (Edwards) Clark. Steve entered the United States Army in 1956 and spent 32 days on Johnston Island in the Pacific Ocean. He served after the Korean Conflict and was an electronic spy for the government and was Honorably Discharged in 1960. Steve was on the Northland Honor Flight in 2015 and was an active member of the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard.
Steve was married to Leah Kinsman on October 26, 1963 in Zion, Illinois by his father-in-law. He was an electrician for US Steel, Commonwealth Edison, Louisiana Pacific, American Brass, American Motors - Chrysler and Abbott Laboratory.
He enjoyed golfing, bird watching, fishing and wintering in Texas.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 62 years, Leah Clark; 2 sons, Stephen (Leslie) Clark and Richard (Andrea) Clark; 4 grandchildren, Reid Clark, Rosemary (Tom) Wrede, Timothy Clark and John Clark; a great grandson, James Thomas Wrede; 4 sisters, Eileen Swegeer, Lila Grant, Glenda (Aaron) Zesiger and Audrey (Royce) Zesiger; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Retta Clark; 6 brothers, James, Arthur, Robert, William, Charles and Lawrence.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11AM Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Maranatha Evangelical Free Church in Rice Lake, with visitation to be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Wisconsin is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
