We join the community to thank Rialto City Council financial declaration to help the victims displaced by this recent fire 🔥

🚨🔥 Rialto City Council approved a $100K Vista View Apartment Fire Relief Fund at last week’s meeting—financed by the City’s general fund and GoFundMe donations—with a distribution policy slated for the next session, to aid roughly 70 displaced residents, from the 16 uninhabitable units.

On the ground, CCAEJ and HCSB are paying for temporary shelter but warn funds are nearly exhausted; CCAEJ Executive Director Ana Gonzalez said the apartment owner returned deposits and prorated rent and told residents the matter was over, while advocates contend state law may impose additional re-housing obligations.

City Attorney Eric Vail advised that an emergency declaration would not directly provide relief and that funding is the immediate need; City Manager Tanya Williams said the incident doesn’t meet the City’s emergency criteria but Rialto can allocate resources without a declaration.
