So I Told a Lie 5/31/26

Over the past few weeks we’ve been looking at some of Abraham’s great qualities. He had some great moments where he trusted God in some big ways. But, like any human, Abraham had his short-comings as well. There were some times when he did some pretty low down things, and today we’ll look at how Abraham lied on a couple of different occasions.


In this message, we will look at:

- different types of lies – some of them may surprise you!

- Some different reasons people lie,

- Reasons why we try to justify our lies,

- And more!

Who do you love to give gifts to?
What is your motivation for giving those gifts?

When you love someone (such as a child), you want to give them good gifts.
Many times, we will even sacrifice time and energy working extra jobs to be able to buy them gifts.

What if we applied that same thinking to our relationship with God?
We love Him so much, and we trust Him so much, and we are so grateful to God,
We are willing to sacrifice – our time, talent, and treasure to God.

This Sunday, we’re going to look at Abraham.
He had a special relationship with God
Abraham had a special “trust relationship” with God.
Abraham showed his trust in God, God in turn provided for Abraham and blessed Him.
When God blessed Abraham, Abraham was willing to give a portion of that blessing back to God.

Join us Sunday to increase our Love for God, our Faith in God, and our Willingness to Sacrifice for Him.

Do you ever question God's timing? His plan? Like "OK God, I've been praying for this thing for awhile, and it still hasn't happened..."
OR "I've been praying for "X" and it seems like you're doing "Y" instead..."

It's so hard to keep trusting God when it seems like He is not answering your prayers, or when it seems like He is doing something totally different than what you are praying.

Imagine being Abraham, and God promises to give you a son, but it's been 10 years and it still hasn't happened...
What do you do? Do you give up on God? Or do you continue trusting?

We learn so much from the life of Abraham.
We learn so much about our own lives and what it looks like to fully trust God.
