Everyone is invited to Pastor Morris’ retirement celebration service next Sunday, January 29th, recognizing his 40 years of consecutive pastoring. We will have a special service at 10:00 am, followed by a special catered dinner. If Pastor Morris’ ministry has touched your life, please come and celebrate with the church and his family.

You are welcome to attend Pastor and Sis Morris’ retirement celebration on January 29, 2023 following the service. We want to wish them well in the next chapter of their lives and thank them for 35 years of leadership at UPCR. We will have cake and punch. Please stay and wish them well! During today's New Year's Day service, Pastor Mark Morris announced his resignation from the church. Pastor Morris was the founding pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Republic and has led the church for 35 years. This is the announcement that was read to the congregation:

Dear UPCI of Republic Church Family,
It has been my honor and privilege to be the founder and pastor of this church since April 1988. Due to my declining health, I feel it is in the best interest of the church for me to submit my resignation at this time.

My final Sunday as pastor will be January 29, 2023. I will be assisting the church board in any way I can to help find a new pastor.

I hope I have been a blessing to you as much as you have been to me.

Sis. Jayne Chaney passed away peacefully at her home last week. Sis. Jayne was the first member of United Pentecostal Church of Republic when the church was founded in 1988. We will miss her sweet and loving spirit, but we rejoice in knowing her race has been run and she has made Heaven her home. Services will be on December 10, 2022 at the United Pentecostal Church of Republic. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00, with a Celebration of Life following at 3:00, officiated by Bro. Morris. Please keep her family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who said a prayer for Pastor Morris today. He is now home and resting. The doctor that did the procedure talked to mom after it was done. He is not able to fix the problem with Bro. Morris’ heart by putting a stent in. Because of this, he has been referred to a heart surgeon. He had an appointment with the surgeon the first week of October to determine next steps. Please keep him and his family in your prayers in the coming weeks. Thank you!!!

I don’t ask for prayer very often, but I have a very special prayer request today. Pastor Morris had a cardiac event a few weeks ago and has been having some difficulties since then. He is going in on Wednesday for an angiogram to determine next steps for his heart. Please pray that the procedure will go well and the doctors will make the best decisions for his health. Please keep our family in your prayers also for peace. I will update Facebook on Wednesday when I know more. Thanks for the prayers.
