Believing Brethren, Inc

Believing Brethren, Inc My product is a book about bringing Jews, Messianics and Christians together to present a united front against the evil in the last days of the world.

It is about the need for Jews Messianic Jews and Christians to come together and love one another. to join together and present a united front against generic evil the world in what appears to be the beginning of the "End Times". There are too many "End Times" prophesies being fulfilled and many Rabbi's, Pastors, Preacher's and other religious leaders are forecasting even more prophetic fulfillment.

I have been kind of lax about posting on Facebook these last couple of weeks. However this weeks post is about my website blog number 6 in the series “Between the Testaments”. This blog is about Rome becoming the ruler of the Jewish lands and the changes of leadership in Rome. It is also about Antipater, the Governor of Idumea, becoming a power in the land of the Jews and the rise of his son, Herod as the so-called “King of the Jews”. This is not something we hear a lot about.

Herod’s vile decree about the killing of all the male babies cannot be verified through secular records. However, his other atrocities are well-known. Herod was not liked by the Jewish citizens and in order to win them over he began building projects. He also renamed public works and buildings in honor of Augustus Caesar to no avail - he was still disliked. Then he started working on the Temple and that was not completed until AD 64 and was totally destroyed in AD 70. I hope your will enjoy reading about this era between the testaments at www.believingbrethren.com .

I have written a book about the brotherhood of Jews, Messianic Jews and Christians. We all worship the same God, however, the Jews do not accept Jesus (Yeshua) as the foretold Messiah and do not believe in His atoning death. But, according to the Bible Jesus (Yeshua) always preached to the Jews first and the earliest Christian churches were mostly Jewish. Peter and Paul both preached to the Jews first. Paul was very worried about his Jewish brethren not accepting Jesus as the Messiah.
According to two separate Bible organizations (CARM and Bible.org) Jesus was 33 years old when He was crucified. That leaves 37 years between the time “The Lamb of God” was slain and the destruction of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. Since Jews cannot sacrifice anywhere but in the temple, could this be God’s exclamation point to the fact that everyone’s sin is forgiven when we accept Jesus (Yeshua) as our Savior. This also means that since AD 70, no Jew can offer a blood sacrifice for the atonement of his sins. “ADONAI said to Moshe, "Speak to Aharon and his sons and to all the people of Isra'el. Tell them that this is what ADONAI has ordered:” (Leviticus 17:1-2 CJB) “For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for yourselves; for it is the blood that makes atonement because of the life.' ” (Leviticus 17:11 CJB) It is God’s word that the “blood is for the atonement of sin”!
It’s time for all God’s Children to Unite!

A while back, there was an article posted on Facebook that caused me to see the need in these “last days” for all Christians to pray for and receive discernment. In my opinion, the article I read was a good example of the watering down of God’s holy word which Rick touched on in his post back in December. Whether the person who wrote it realized what he was saying or not is not up to me to judge. My part is to know the word and recognize when the Holy Spirit puts up a red flag of warning.
I was told that the man (Mike Crawford) that wrote this piece was considered a prophet by their church. The article was not titled but on the second page he made, what I consider a blanket statement:”God is not in control of everything but he is IN charge of everything”. Interesting isn’t it to try and see God as lesser than the bible declares Him to be.
The writer could be a person looking for something “new”or something “different” to get the attention of the Christian community. I don’t know. I did notice some of what I consider “new age” teaching included.
Personally I see this as a dangerous trend of which we all should be aware. We must be very careful in these “last days” for there are many deceivers in the world. If you are not grounded in the word, please check every thing you read against the scriptures as the Bereans did in Acts 17:11 after they heard Paul’s teachings.
I would like to encourage you all to stay vigilant and do not let anything go by you that doesn’t seem right in your spirit. Check it against God’s word and perhaps discus it with your pastor or a more mature Christian than yourself.
May God bless you all with His wisdom, knowledge and understanding in these uncertain times ahead.

Here it is, a new year! A new year and a new administration in Washington. God performed a miracle and America has a new President. All things pointed to a continuation of Democratic control of America, but the Lord in His mercy, decided that America needed a break and gave us a Republican President. “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.” (Romans 13:1-2 KJV) The Republicans did not riot and break laws under the rule of President Obama, now it is up to the Democrats to accept the choice of the majority and become lawful citizens. America should be at peace and give our new President the respect that the citizens gave to the last President. This is the last political oriented post you will see here, depending on future circumstances. I want to thank everyone who has read and commented on my posts for the last year. Happy New Year!

Chanukkah
Chanukkah or the Festival of lights, as it is also known, is celebrated because of the miracle of the oil. “As part of the rededication, the victorious Jews needed to light the Temple's menorah (candelabrum), but they had only enough oil to last one day and it would take eight days to prepare more oil. Miraculously, the one-day supply of oil lasted for eight days. The miracle of the oil is commemorated with this eight-day candle lighting holiday.” (jewfaq.org)
Chanukkah or Hanukkah, as it is known to non-Jews, is celebrated between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year Chanukkah starts on December 25, Christmas day. Chanukkah, on the Jewish calendar, is listed as a minor holiday, but with the Christmas season all around them, Jews also wanted a Jewish festive holiday. That is why there is such a festive air about this holiday in the Jewish community. The holiday is really about the Miracle of the Oil and lighting candles, which is part of the celebration. Other parts of the celebration is playing games for chocolate coins and eating potato pancakes. The giving of gifts to the children is so that they won’t feel left out during the Christmas season. The gift giving usually does not extend beyond the children.

Well, the book signing at His Word - Parable Christian Store went very well! I spent some time just sitting and waiting, but I also had several fine conversations with some of the customers. Overall, the concept of the “Our Believing Brethren” was accepted and several books were purchased. Even though it was a cold and rainy day there were a lot of customers and shoppers in the store. The best parts of my time there, were the conversations. Everyone seemed to accept the Jews and Messianics as our brethren and they all supported Israel. I am thankful that the Lord is getting “Our Believing Brethren” into the hands of those He wants to read it. I really enjoyed talking with the people and it was amazing how agreeable and nice everyone was. There was even one political discussion, but at the end we agreed to disagree in a friendly manner and we shook hands and parted amicably before they left. All in all, it was a pleasant day, even though the weather was not so nice.
For information on the book or to read my blogs, go to www.believingbrethren.com and read a blog and leave a comment. I am currently doing a chapter by chapter study of Romans. I really want to thank everyone who visited the store last Saturday and especially those who stopped and talked with me. Thank You.

Signs of the Times

In 2 Timothy 3:1, Paul gives Timothy a warning. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” (2 Timothy 3:1 KJV) Paul goes on to describe some of these perilous times. The King James description is bad enough, but if you read it in the Amplified Bible you will find the description very close to what is happening in the world today. Folks, I feel that we are on the ragged edge of the prophesied “End Times”. There is sexual and moral looseness, a watering down of biblical truths, arrogant and foolish new interpretations of biblical passages are being accepted by many denominations. Some groups have allowed atheists and sexual deviants into their governing bodies. Much of this is done in the name of “political correctness,” which is an abrogation of the 2nd amendment of the Constitution’s “Freedom of Speech” clause.
Do you think it is time for us to stand in unity where biblical truths are concerned? Where there is no opposition, these misconceptions will take hold and thrive.
Over the years men and women have fought and died for our freedoms. Are we going to give them up so easily? I hope not! We have indoctrinated groups trying to destroy our Constitution. Don’t let it happen!

Please be aware that I am having another book-signing on Saturday, December 10, 2016. I will be at His Word-Parable Christian Store at 3005 N. McCarran Blvd., Sparks. I hope you will come by and talk to me about my book, “Our Believing Brethren” and purchase a personally autographed copy. Hope to see you there!

For the last two weeks there has been a “Guest Contributor”. Those who know me know that it was my wife of 59 years, Norma. In this post I want to emphasize some of the things she mentioned. When she was talking about “stuck in a rut services,” and she asked the question, “where is the Holy Spirit? Wasn’t He invited?” It seems that in many churches the Holy Spirit is not welcome or is given short shrift.
She also talked about her “journey of truth.” “The truth of scripture taught by the Holy Spirit.” This led her mostly through Paul’s teachings. And she said, “I agree with the Pastor who said, he believed that Paul’s word were for the believers of our time.” As for the gifts of the Spirit,
many churches try to quell the Spirit when someone has a word for the Congregation. For proof that the Gifts are no longer in effect people quote “Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” (1 Corinthians 13:8 KJV) However they fail to quote a later verse “But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.” (1 Corinthians 13:10) What is “that which is perfect”? There is only one thing that I know of that is perfect, it is Jesus/Yeshua the Messiah, so until He returns the gifts of the Spirit are still in effect.

If you want to learn the biblical prospective about the ties between Jews, Messianic and Christians, please read “Our Believing Brethren”. It can be purchased at either location of His Word - Parable Christian Stores at 3005 N. McCarran Blvd in Sparks or at 6815 Sierra Center Parkway in Reno. Guest Contributor, Norma Adams, ……….Continued

One of the things that has bothered me over the last few years has been the “stuck in a rut” services of the organized church. Believe it or not there are a lot of God’s people who would like to see spiritual growth in their walk with the Lord. The last few churches Rick and I have attended did not teach Paul’s revelation received from his encounter with Christ. In my opinion, there is no stopping place of learning for Saints. I remember an old saying, “If you are going up a hill and you stop, there is no place to go except down.”
In my personal walk with the Lord, the Spirit has taught me from the onset that the organized church is not my “life.” Maybe this will shock you, but Christ is my “life”. He lives in me and through me, i.e. His life is manifested through me as I abandoned myself to Him. As I went through Paul’s teachings I began to receive spiritual freedom and soul freedom that I had never had before. God set me free from the bo***ge of “doing” and brought me into the complete freedom of “being”. No longer was I bound to a group of believers, but an individual child of God who is called and chosen by a loving Heavenly Father. I expect some of you would respond with the “lone ranger” syndrome, but if you have never experienced this freedom you would not understand that it comes by revelation. Yes, a true revelation of our relationship with God our Father, Jesus Christ our Savior, and the Holy Spirit our teacher.
For my last admonition, let me share my former comment that this is not meant to condemn or judge and especially not to offend. Something that stands out to me in recent years is the rise of Satan’s “ugly” language. What used to be known as “street language” among the open sinners is now being used by God’s children. Is Satan winning his goal of discrediting the witness of Christians? (What you are stands over you so I can’t hear what you are saying.) Another sign of Satan’s foothold in the body of Christ (the spiritual church) is the acceptance of so called “social drinking” and “inconvenient jesting.” Ephesians 4:20 say’s “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth” and 5:4 “neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting which are not convenient: but rather of giving thanks.” Maybe we should ask ourselves if our lives are really a true testimony to the world. If we are not becoming more and more committed to Christ and more and more separated from the world how can the spiritual growth come? I think everyone probably realizes that time is short. Satan is very busy right now and in order to not be used by him, we must know God’s word. Shall we go to our teacher the Holy Spirit?

One of the things that has bothered me over the last few years has been the “stuck in the rut” services of the organized church. I want to say, where is the Holy Spirit, wasn’t He invited to
the service? Saints, time is getting away and I don’t see “life” in the church. By that I mean God’s people seem to have gotten settled into a routine in their life that has stifled their spiritual growth. As I see it, things of the world have become integrated into their spiritual life to a degree that it is almost hidden. How has that happened?

Personally, I don’t think there is a stopping place for Saints. I do realize the fast paced world we live in and how a “routine” makes things easier for us. Putting our spiritual walk aside just seems to slowly move into our pattern. I remember an old saying, “If you’re going up a hill and you stop, there is no where to go except down”.

We do know from scripture that Satan has been given his time to do his “dirty work” in the world, leading as many as he can deceive into the depths of hell and robbing Christians of their effectiveness. Many of you reading this are probably thinking that you don’t want to hear that. This is what God says in Romans 6:16: “know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey: whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness.”

After years of witnessing church divisions, lack of love among the brethren, and lukewarm Saints, the Lord took me on a journey of truth. The truth of scripture taught by the Holy Spirit. I had been on a quest to know the Holy Spirit and His workings in the lives of born again Christians. I was led to study, mostly in Paul’s teaching. I agree with the pastor who said, he believed Paul’s words were for the believers of our time.

Here is the report on Part 2 of “Kosher Jesus” and “The Real Kosher Jesus”. After you have read last week’s post that sets up the debate situation; here is the promised report. The video began with Sid Roth telling a story about his Jewish father. His father asked him about Yeshua and Mr. Roth started reading to him from Isaiah the last three verses of chapter 53 and all of chapter 54 and after he had started, his father asked him what book he was reading from and Sid showed him his King James Bible. His father said, “that don’t count.” So, Sid went to his former Rabbi and got a copy of the Tanakh and read from that and it is almost word for word with the King James Isaiah Chapters 53 and 54. When he finished reading his father said, “That’s Jesus!” But, he still did not believe in Yeshua until Sid talked to him on his deathbed. It was a very moving story. As for the debate it was much the same as Part 1, with Rabbi Boteach going over his allotted time and going down rabbit trails instead of specifically answering the question. The Rabbi said that Yeshua did not fulfill verse 10 of Chapter 53 because Yeshua had no seed (children). Aren’t all Messianic Jews and Christians “Children of God”. I certainly feel that I am a “Child of God”. There was a Q&A session after the debate with some good questions to each debater and then Dr. Brown and Sid Roth had a conversation near the end of the DVD. All in all it was worth the money we spent on the book and the DVD.
