What a great time. We had somewhere between 600 to 1000 people at our little church. I think around 750. It is a time of unity without walls. It proves that people from all races, denominations and religions can come together and have fun. We are all God's children.

Pisgah Baptist Church is having our annual Fall Festival on October 26th from 11 am to 1 pm. It is going to be bigger and better than before. We have maxed out our space for trunks and exhibits/services. This year I want us to pray that God with "Show us His Glory" from Exodus 33. Expect God to show up.

Here it is, October. Did everything slip up on you? Time to think Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yeah, they're just around the corner. Don't blink, you'll miss them. But I want you to think about the Fall Festival. Jenny has done a fabulous job putting it all together. I know that God wants us to do it. However, how much prayer have you put into it? We can go out and have fun and that is good. But it is not about having fun it's about sharing God's love and His Word. I ask that the next 3 weeks we will be praying to souls to save. We need to reach out to those who sit on the sidelines. The ones that say they are saved but don't live it out. I'm not praying for the turnout as much about how we affect the turnout. Pray, pray, pray.

I have a question, should you pray for God to bless your food or bless you through your food? In Exodus 24:25-28 we are told God will bless your food. Then in Deuterronomy 8:10 we are to bless the Lord. I would enjoy hearing your answers.

It's been awhile since I posted on here. But I have a question for you to consider. I was studying three or four weeks ago and this popped into my mind.

Have you ever considered, do you ask God to bless your food or ask God to bless you with your food? I think it is an interesting question. Which is the correct? In Deuterronomy 8:10 we can see that they asked a blessing after eating, not before. Also, the word bless is to praise not ask. So, after eating they praised God for His provisions. In Exodus 23:25, God said that He would bless their food. But is that the same thing as us asking God's blessings?
In Exodus, when we look into the verse we can see that it is a contract. The proverbial if-then statement. God is saying, if we do what God asks us to do then He will bless us with food and water.
So, what am I getting at? As I was reading, I wondering are we asking God to bless our food. Shouldn't we be asking Him to bless us through our food. In the Bible we see people and groups of people praising God for the food. The food itself isn't in need of blessings. It is there so we can be blessed. So, the next time you sit down to eat, try thanking God for the food and asking that He might bless you with it.
