St. Michael’s Founders Day – This Sunday!

Join us Sunday, August 16, from 9:00–10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Cemetery for a special historical event celebrating our 175th Anniversary.

Come learn about the founders of St. Michael’s, hear about the history of our congregation, and discover how their faith helped shape who we have become since 1851.

We invite everyone to join us as we remember the faithful generations who came before us and celebrate 175 years of God’s blessings.

Our Summer Retreat, on July 29, 2026 at 5:30 in Richville at St. Michael's Lutheran Hall. What a wonderful night to gather this summer. Thank you to Pastor Steele for the thought provoking bible study, Ruth Steele for the wonderful job as our district president, our YWRs - Mary Carter and Alyssa Singer, and our hostesses St. Michael's Lutheran Church LWML. A big huge thanks for always coming together and supporting each other. Thank you God for all these wonderful ladies that you bring into each others lives.

THROWBACK THURSDAY- Before and After!

Before there was the LCMS’s Board of International Mission (BIM), there was Herman A. Mayer (seen below). You see, the BIM is currently charged with developing and determining policies in support of mission and ministry in foreign countries for the Office of International Mission. Among other duties, they train, send, and care for missionaries. Before that, Mayer was the Executive Secretary of the Board for European Affairs. Under that title, Herman investigated mission opportunities in Venezuela, Central America, and Mexico. He also supervised work in European and South American countries. Before that, he served 13 mission stations in Northern Minnesota. Before that, he was pastor in Bay City from 1927-1946. Before that, he was born in Frankenmuth to E. A. Mayer and Maria Pfotenhauer in 1896. Before and after...he was Herman A. Mayer.
