Week 1 and Week 2 brought collaborative teamwork with Mrs. Hambaum's and Mrs. Hall's Social Studies classes. Students took a walk to take notes on our local geography and today, they created some great comprehensive maps of the areas around Trinity.

The 5th and 6th grade science class studied surface tension and viscosity lab. They had to do eight different liquids and rank them. It was a lesson in them understanding they had way too many variables so the results were skewed. It was still a good lab.

The 1st and 2nd graders were using their senses to observe feathers from the Halls. They are also learning how to use hand
lenses.

Even in the heat we still learn amazing things about what God has made.

Trinity will have a full day of school tomorrow, September 2nd. If classrooms become too warm, we will move to air conditioned spaces in the church.

Mrs. Hall's class is excited to once again raise Monarch butterflies at Trinity this year. Today, we released a male Monarch that the students named Adam. (How appropriate to also match up to our study of Creation today!)

During the school day, we also watched two more monarchs emerge from their chrysalises. They will be released tomorrow.

Science class taught us about Monarch data, measurements, and some microscope work after one of the students found an egg!

Mrs. Hall is working in collaboration with her sister, Denise Bujalski, a teacher at Northern Michigan Christian School near Cadillac, MI. They will share cross-state student-researched monarch Science data with each other and make some collaborative friendships with other parochial school students.

The Trinity 3rd and 4th class is also sponsored this year for the Milkweed in the Classroom program sponsored by the Thumbs Up Women on the Wing local chapter of Pheasants Forever. Our class will receive equipment and habitat education materials to help us grow and educate others about native habitats critical to monarch and pollinator survival.

Thank you, Lord, for giving us these awesome learning opportunities about these beautiful creatures in your kingdom. May we be good stewards of the Earth and all that is in it!
