Dear Friends

The Northern Neck Region of the Diocese of Virginia met on Wednesday to consider the weather conditions and the risks associated with the storm. All Episcopal churches will remain closed until weather conditions improve.

I will be offering an online service of Morning Prayer at 10am this coming Sunday (February 1st.
This service is open to all, so please feel free to invite your family and friends. After the service there will be time to chat and catch up with each other.

This coming weekend's weather event

Friday January 23rd

Dear Friends

After reviewing the most recent weather reports, taking advice and hearing the Governor’s request to stay off the roads on Sunday I have made the decision not to hold services either at St. Mary’s, Fleeton or Wicomico Parish Church this coming Sunday (January 25th).

I hope to be able to reopen both churches no later than Wednesday of next week.

New Beginnings

On January 1, 2026 St. Mary’s Fleeton and Wicomico Parish will officially enter a formal Covenant with each other.
This Covenant marks a historic change for both churches. Our shared Rector, the Very Reverend William Stafford-Whittaker, will lead both church communities, and under his leadership and spiritual guidance we will begin this exciting new chapter in the history of both our churches.

On January 4th, we will welcome The Very Revered William Stafford Whitaker as our rector. Over the past ten months we have been fortunate to several supply ministers that allowed us to continue our Sunday services and while we appreciate the time and dedication of each of these priest, we look forward to having our own rector once again.

As the two churches work toward becoming one parish, we will have the opportunity for shared experiences, additional volunteers, joint programs like Lenten programs, Bible studies, community meals, our movie nights and coming in the future, we hope to bring game nights and maybe a few other surprises. Stay tuned for more information as events come online. If there is an event that you would be interested in, let one of the vestry members know.
