A blessed Easter to all! Christ is risen, He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Happy Easter! He is risen! On this glorious morning, we pray to our Savior King:

Lord Jesus, this is truly an extraordinary day! You have fulfilled your promise; you have conquered sin and death and the grave. Your empty tomb proves that you are God, your Word is true, and I too will rise one day. Teach me not to worry about the problems of this life. Calm my anxious soul with the reassurance that because you have conquered death itself, you will make all things work out for my good. Amen.

Today we remember that our Savior died so we may live. We pray:

Lord Jesus, I cannot help but stare at the cross today as I recall your death and reflect on what it means. I am the one who deserved the pain and death you suffered there. Have mercy on my soul. Yet I also hear your cry, “It is finished!” You have kept the law perfectly in my place and have fulfilled every prophecy of Scripture. Your work is complete; there is nothing more that I must do. Your cross is beautiful. Thank you for the peace it brings to my soul. Amen.

As we observe and remember Holy Thursday today, we pause to reflect on Christ’s love and service and pray:

Dear Savior, who came not to be served but to serve, you washed your disciples’ feet as a parting token of your attitude of willing humiliation. Before you performed the ultimate act of self-giving by offering your life as a ransom for many, you also gave them and us a lasting testament of your loving sacrifice in Holy Communion. Teach me to treasure this blessed Sacrament and your holy example. Move me to serve others as you served. Amen.

You are going about your daily business. There is a crowd. You are easily distracted by all the activity. It’s a holiday, and there are extra things to prepare. It is easy to focus on your personal task at hand and lose sight of the bigger picture.

Focus! Look up! There is a King who presents himself so humbly that you might miss the importance of his arrival. Hail the King who humbly comes to save us!

He came on a special mission—to save us. ..

From eternity, Jesus has been God, holy and majestic. When we look tenderly at the holy infant, we are looking at the same God who once told the prophet Moses, “No one may see me and live.” Yet, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds all saw their holy God and survived. How? God became human, hiding his glory within flesh, so that he could come to us without instilling fear or dread.

A famous theologian once said, “We are to think of the Lord’s birth, where the Word became flesh, not as a past event which we recall, but as a present reality on which we gaze.” It’s not that Christ the Savior was born. It’s that Christ the Savior is born.
