Share the Plate with Sonrisas Dental Health on April 19
This week’s Share the Plate recipient is Sonrisas Dental Health. Access to quality, affordable, equitable health care is the foundation for a healthy community, yet much of the progress made over decades on health care for the most vulnerable stands to be undone because of recent cuts to Medicaid. Sonrisas is a safety-net dental organization serving thousands of community members who face financial, physical, developmental, and cultural barriers to care through its clinics and thousands more children, families and elderly through community and school-based initiatives. In the Redwood City area alone, Sonrisas provides care to over 1,000 residents, in addition to school-based screening and oral health education to over 1,500 children every year.
Online donations can be made from the Friday before the service through the Tuesday following the service, using link https://www.uufrc.org/community/giving/ and writing “Share the Plate” in the memo line. Please make donations via charitable giving accounts (e.g. Donor Advisory Funds) payable to “UUFRC” and put the Share the Plate recipient name in the memo line. On the Sunday of the collection, all donations, unless otherwise specified, go to Share the Plate.
