Catholic Identity To restore that which we have lost. Photos & articles to encourage a return to our Catholic Identity and Culture. http://instagram.com/catholicidentity

Catholic Identity is an unskilled team of amateurs (persons who admire something; devotees; fans:). Predominantly comprised of married, single, and seminarians, devoted to Christ and His Church. Our particular goal is to restore that which we have lost: our sense of identity and culture; our heritage.

Today is the feast of the presentation of Our Lady.

COLLECT
"O God, by Whose will the blessed Mary, ever Virgin, the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, was on this day presented in the temple, grant, we beseech You, that by her intercession we may be found worthy to be brought into the temple of Your glory. Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen."

Today is the feast of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. She was devoted to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and was instrumental in instituting the feast of the Sacred Heart.

"O Lord Jesus Christ, who unto the holy virgin Margaret Mary didst in wondrous manner reveal the unsearchable riches of thy Heart, grant us, by her merits and example, that loving thee in all things and above all things, we may obtain an abode in thy Heart for evermore. Who livest and reignest with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end. Amen."

"Stand firm in the faith! Do not be confused! Often it seems as if science - on the one hand, the natural sciences; on the other, historical research (especially the exegesis of the Holy Scriptures) - has irrefutable insights to offer that are contrary to the Catholic faith. I have witnessed from times long past the changes in natural science and have seen how apparent certainties against the faith vanished, proving themselves not to be science but philosophical interpretations only apparently belonging to science - just as, moreover, it is in dialogue with the natural sciences that faith has learned to understand the limits of the scope of its affirmations and thus its own specificity. For 60 years now, I have accompanied the path of theology, especially biblical studies, and have seen seemingly unshakeable theses collapse with the changing generations, which turned out to be mere hypotheses: the liberal generation (Harnack, Jülicher, etc.), the existentialist generation (Bultmann, etc.), the Marxist generation. I have seen, and see, how, out of the tangle of hypotheses, the reasonableness of faith has emerged and is emerging anew. Jesus Christ is truly the Way, the Truth, and the Life - and the Church, in all her shortcomings, is truly His Body."

Today is the feast of St. Wenceslaus

"His piety was the occasion of his death. Once, after a banquet at his brother’s palace, to which he had been treacherously invited, he went, as was his wont at night, to pray before the tabernacle. There, at midnight on the feast of the Angels, 938, he received his crown of martyrdom, his brother dealing him the death-blow." 1894 Butlers Daily Lives of the Saints

Personal meditation on depression:

Everyday you've ever spent alone, begging for comfort in the dark emptiness of your room, He saw. He knows. He was with you. You don't need to feel His presence to trust He is always there. You don't need a touch on the cheek, a good night's rest, a warm embrace, or any reassurance to know that His plan was to experience all your pain with you since the second you were conceived. You have always been His plan. And your destiny was always Him. That is the true love you were meant for.
