Jewish tradition teaches that what we do matters beyond ourselves.
Often, the things that shape us most are not the big moments we remember, but the small ones.
A conversation around the dinner table. A ride home after a long day. A word of encouragement when we needed it most.
A tradition passed down without realizing it would one day become part of who we are.
The values we model, the kindness we show, and the wisdom we share often stay with people longer than we realize.
On Global Day of Parents, we recognize the many ways parents, grandparents, guardians, and caregivers help guide the next generation.
As we move from generation to generation, we carry forward far more than traditions. We carry forward the love, care, and values that continue to shape our families, our communities, and our lives.
Today, we celebrate those who show up day after day, often without recognition, and the lasting difference they make in the lives around them.
Several of the archival photos shared here come from Rabbi Emeritus Hillel Cohn's personal collection. We are grateful to him for helping preserve and share these moments from our congregation's history.
