Has Jesus ever spoken to you through a film's theme, character, or plot? You are invited to this FREE event where we watch a film from a spiritual point of view. Afterwards we will practice Cinema Divina (like Lectio Divina but using film). Then we will discuss how the film relates to our faith and our daily lives. Movies can be our modern day parables. You are welcome to invite others and bring snacks to share!

Cinema for the Soul Returns September 4!



Hello Cinema for the Soul!

We’re excited to kick off a new ministry year on Friday, September 4 at 6:00 PM with The Mission (1986).

The Mission is a powerful story of faith, mercy, sacrifice, and the call to bring the Gospel to others. It’s a great film to begin our new season and another year of discovering truth, beauty, and goodness through cinema.

We’ve also put together a short promo featuring the films we’ll be watching throughout the 2026–2027 season. Check it out below and get a preview of what’s ahead!

Cinema for the Soul Presents the Documentary Broken Mary The Kevin Matthews Story on Friday, March 13th at 6:15pm upstairs in room 201

The true story of Kevin Matthews, a radio legend in Chicago, who lived a non Catholic life. Years later he finds a broken statue of Mother Mary in a dumpster. His life is forever changed as he follows his new purpose in his life which is sharing the broken Mary statue around the United States. Matthews believes the statue can be just what we need to give us hope, love, and to grow closer to her son Jesus.
