Why We Exist

In the summer of 2011, a group of Christians began praying together on Monday nights in Redlands, California. They asked the Lord to provide a shepherd who would lead them in planting a church that would honor Christ with a genuine devotion to the gospel. Upon completion of the Grace Advance Academy, Pastor Todd Barnett became that shepherd. The biblical foundations of this church th

On September 4th, 2011, forty-four people gathered as The Anchor Bible Church for their first Lord's Day worship service, rejoicing in what He has and will accomplish, for His glory!

Last Sunday, we presented our youth with bibles as they move into a new grade. We also had the privilege to come alongside one of our members and pray for him as he prepares to move out of state.

We then continued our study in Genesis 13. Here, we saw the contrast between Abram’s faith and Lot’s sight, highlighting Yahweh’s gracious promises, so that we would walk by faith in God’s word rather than by sight.

Join us this Sunday at 9:30, where we will observe the Lord’s Table! Let us prepare our hearts and meditate on the faithful promises of our God in our memory verse for this week, Genesis 13:17 - “Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you.”

"We long for a love like this, and resist it. We don't know what to do with a love we don't earn." - Janet Aucoin

What a privilege it was to have Janet Aucoin with us this weekend to teach our ladies about the HESED of God. In Hebrew, Hesed means "loving-kindness," "steadfast love," expressing a deep, faithful, and compassionate love.

She taught our women about the lovingkindness of God and how that affects how we forgive, trust, and lament. Janet walked through how God, in His great love, forgives us even though we are not owed it. She showed us that even if we don’t understand, we can still trust in the Lord because He will ultimately bring about good for those He loves. Finally, she encouraged us to take our confusion, pain, and sorrow to God. In our lament, we can draw close to our Heavenly Father and find rest knowing that He has overcome and will not forsake those He loves. Christ has paid it ALL!

The past few Sundays, we have been in Genesis 12, where God sovereignly calls Abram to serve Him.

We first looked at verses 1-3, where God tells Abram to leave behind his life of idolatry. The Lord makes His eternal covenant with Abram, promising to bring forth the promised seed and bless all the nations of the world through his offspring.

As we continued through chapter 12, we saw Abram’s faith as he believed God and left his home to go to the land of Canaan. However, we also saw his failure when he went to Egypt and lied about Sarai not being his wife, resulting in Pharaoh taking her for his own wife. But through the whole chapter, God demonstrates His faithfulness to Abram despite his fluctuating faith and circumstances.

Let us prepare our hearts to receive God’s word tomorrow. Join us this Sunday morning at 9:30 AM!

The past few Sundays, we have been blessed to have some of our missionary partners worship with us.

We were first taught from Matthew 28:18-20. Here, we learned about four considerations that motivate us to be involved in the mission of the church and evangelize to those around us.

Last Sunday we read from 1 Thessalonians 2:13, where we learned about God’s ongoing work through His church and His Word, encouraging us to invest ourselves in the Lord’s everlasting work!

Please pray for our missionary partners as they continue to share the Gospel with the world and that salvation would come to those they minister to!

Thursday was the final day of Camp Regen! Our students and leaders are back home!

On their last day of Regen, our students reflected on what it means to belong to Jesus Christ, the King of Glory. On their way back home, they continued to enjoy their time together as they stopped to have their annual Walmart potluck! Sharing a meal, worshipping in song, and enjoying the company of one another as they had gospel centered conversations and contemplating their time at camp.

Let us thank the Lord for allowing our high schoolers and counselors to travel safely back home. What a joy it is knowing our students had a concentrated time of worship, fellowship and study of God's word.

Day 4: Camp Regen

Today our campers were in Revelation. Learning that this book is not a mystery, but a promise. God promises that judgement will come, the Gospel will continue to be proclaimed, Christ will return, and God will get all the glory!

It has helped us re-examine our reasons for coming to camp, whether we have the right mindset, and whether we’re ready for The King’s coming.

The leaders have been encouraged by the students hearing them talk about how God has been at work in their lives. A few mentioned how grateful they are for their parents who have been playing a very important spiritual role in their lives, or how they want to leave camp with changes that will last.

In the midst of competitive games, conversations, dinners, we can rest assure the Word of God is faithfully being proclaimed!

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Join us in prayer for everyone at Camp Regen, trusting in the Lord knowing His plans will not be thwarted.

Day 3 of Camp Regen!

This evening, our highschoolers learned that Christ will soon return and will solve the problem of evil once and for all. Drawing from Acts 2:17-21, they learned that we are currently in the last days when God will soon judge all of Heaven and earth. Before the King comes in judgement however, He graciously grants time for sinners to call on the name of the Lord and be saved.

Let us pray that the hearts of our kids will call on the name of God and be saved in Jesus Christ!

Day 2 of Camp Regen! 💥

Our students had a full day ahead! This year’s game theme is “ALL-AMERICAN,” and they're team NFL.

Another day full of fellowship, competitive games and truth being shared!

This evening, our kids were taught about the truth of Heaven and to live in light of Eternity. While there are many blessings that await Christians in Heaven, our kids learned the ultimate reward is Christ Himself. Let us continue praying for the salvation of our high schoolers as they continue to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

❗️Day 1 ❗️15 of our high schoolers along with several of our leaders arrived at Glorieta, NM for Camp Regan today!

Tonight, they were taught from Psalm 24, where they learned that God is King of Glory over all creation. They learned that God has a claim on them, a plan for them, and that He is coming for them. Let us continue to pray for our kids, that they would come to know Christ and be saved!

The earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it. (Psalms 24:1, NASB)
