The Anchor Bible Church

The Anchor Bible Church We teach the all-sufficient Scripture toward a high view of God and the eternal hope of the gospel.

Why We Exist

In the summer of 2011, a group of Christians began praying together on Monday nights in Redlands, California. They asked the Lord to provide a shepherd who would lead them in planting a church that would honor Christ with a genuine devotion to the gospel. Upon completion of the Grace Advance Academy, Pastor Todd Barnett became that shepherd. The biblical foundations of this church th

en became . . .

• a high view of God and His all-sufficient WORD,

• the GOSPEL of grace for victory over sin & death,

• personal shepherding CARE & discipleship

• the purity, unity, & joy of His CHURCH

On September 4th, 2011, forty-four people gathered as The Anchor Bible Church for their first Lord's Day worship service, rejoicing in what He has and will accomplish, for His glory!

This Sunday we continued our time in the book of Genesis 11:1-9. We learned about the Tower of Babel and saw how God in His mercy chose to restrain evil and human pride. This passage teaches us that the plans of this world will be thwarted and judged by God.

Let us rejoice knowing that Christ remains on the throne and is sovereign over creation!

Join us next Sunday at 9:30 AM as we continue our study in the book of Genesis and enjoy His word!

Last Sunday we continued our study in the book of Genesis 7:1-24 which records the first three events around Noah’s Ark. This passage helps us understand that God saves the righteous, but blots out those who ignore His warning.

Join us this Sunday for our worship service at 9:30 AM as we continue to learn about His faithfulness.

Christ is risen! What a privilege to gather on Resurrection Sunday and celebrate our Savior.

We went through Matthew 16:13-28 and learned three essential truths about Jesus and His mission so that we may be blessed by His person, saved through His purpose, and steadfast in expectation of His return after His resurrection.

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
25 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 16:24)

As March comes to a close, let's recap how the Lord has blessed us...

We kicked off the month of March with two of our missionary partners who joined us to worship and shared updates about their ministries. We were also able to able enjoy lunch, fellowship, and a Q&A.

We had a church building workday where several brothers and sisters came together to care for the place God has given us.

Our annual Regen Cafe was a great time where our 1:16 students served their local body and showcased their God given talents. Throughout the night, we were able to raise money to help send these students to Camp Regen where they will be able to sit under sound teaching and hear the Gospel.

We also welcomed a new member to our local body and heard the testimony of our faithful brother.

We hosted our first Parent Seminar! Our first lesson taught on encouraging and equipping parents in the calling of shepherding their children. What a joy it has been to see the work the Lord has been doing in our church!

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” Psalm‬ ‭127‬:‭1‬ ‭ESV‬

"In the beginning God..."

Everything starts there.

Last Sunday we went over Genesis 5:1-6:8. Here we learned three memoirs of man that reveal our own deep need and ruin, but God threads hope through Adam's generations so that we would learn to long for and walk with God.

Join us this Sunday at 9:30 AM as we continue to go through the book of Genesis together and cling to His truths!

This Wednesday, we resumed our churchwide discipleship, opening our new series: Killing Darling Sins.

We considered the sins we cherish and excuse, those that linger and prove most dangerous to our souls. As Romans 8:13 reminds us, and John Owen summarized: we are either killing sin or sin is killing us.

If you missed Wednesday, join us tomorrow, 8:00–10:00, as we continue this grace-centered, Spirit-led pursuit of holiness together.

Let’s pray for one another, seeking holy vigilance, repentant hearts, and growing joy in our Savior, confident that He will finish the work He has begun in us.
