The history of LIVING BREAD CHURCH began May 1982, through a supernatural visitation of the Lord to Apostle Kenneth D. The name LIVING BREAD MINISTRIES was given at that time. It was inspired from St. John 6:51A, from which we have our theme, “I am the Living Bread that came down from Heaven; if any man eat of this Bread, he shall live forever.”
The logo was given by the Holy Spirit to Apostle Ho
gan. After asking the assistance of Carleton Whitsett, a qualified artist and architect, the original logo was created. The logo is a picture of a globe-shaped sphere, which at its center is the Bible projecting a living image of the Lord Jesus Christ. This graphically depicts the church’s motto: “Sharing The Manna From Heaven” (Jesus is the true Manna from Heaven). The globe -shaped sphere represents the outreach ministry around the world. In July 1994, Living Bread organized and incorporated under the laws of the state of Michigan. Our first worship service was held August 7, 1994. In the year 2000 God began to give Apostle Hogan a revelation of LBM being a gate church according to Genesis 28 and St. John 1:51 where God’s manifested glory could be revealed. Also God gave revelation that this gate church was to be established at the west gate of the city of Detroit near an ascending highway. God lead Apostle Hogan and Prophetess Joyce to the present location of our church and spoke prophetically that it was the exact place He had ordained for the church to relocate to. Through a series of miracles God supernaturally gave us our present facility, which is located at the west gate of the city of Detroit. Ezekiel 48:34 on the west side is 4500 measures; three gates: one gate of Gad (a troop/good fortune) one gate of Asher (happy rich pastures and prosperity), one gate of Naphtali (obtained by wrestling). “This is God’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.”
