WE NEED YOUR HELP. High Braes Refuge will be having Spring workdays on Saturday April 25 & Saturday May 9 beginning at 9am until 3pm. No need to stay the whole day if you can't. we need all the help we can get. Lunch will be provided. Please contact our office to let us know if you are coming so we can plan. (315) 599-7362 or [email protected]) Our focus will be yard cleanup, firewood and work on the Cottage but there is a lot of other tasks to be done. Something for everyone.

It’s Summer Camp Day at the Braes! Campers arrive this morning for a fun filled week. Please pray for the staff and camper’s this week as we get this opportunity to share the love of Jesus.

Well things got a little sporty at the Braes last night. Some significant tree damage but all primary buildings are undamaged. Praise God!

Summer Day Camp at the Braes will be held July 8-12, 2024, and registrations are already beginning to come in. This year's theme will be Breaker Rock Beach. Campers will be challenged as they discover that God’s truth never changes, everyone needs Jesus, and learn to speak the truth in love. Adventure awaits each day as campers explore tide pools, spot orcas, fly kites, and watch the mighty waves crash up against the immovable Breaker Rock! Our 50th Anniversary Banquet will be held on June 8th, 2024 on the grounds at the High Braes Refuge. One thing that helps to make this event a success are table sponsors. Table sponsors cover 100% of the actual cost of the Banquet so the offering can be used to help the ministry. You can sponsor a table for $200. If you plan to sponsor a table, as well as attend the banquet with guests, you will need to register separately and can do that on this same page. GOOD NEWS! It appears we have our summer day camp team for the 2024 season. We are excited to announce that Woodland Baptist Church of Columbus Mississippi will be our new Summer Mission Team. This is a big answer to prayer! Not only is this important summer ministry able to continue but leaders from this team are already very familiar with the Braes and this program. The dates for camp will be July 8-12, 2024. We are already working to get forms ready for this summer and they will be on the website sometime in April. We look forward to seeing everyone this summer!

Hi everyone. I thought I would bring you up to date on our Summer Day Camp Ministry here at the Braes. We have been blessed for the last several years to work alongside one of the best mission teams I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Having a high-quality team like Fairview made the process of day camp much easier. They always brought an amazing ethic and love for our campers that has been rare to find. However, as we go into to 2024 season, Fairview will not be able to join us this summer. We appreciate all the hard work and sacrifice they have made for many years, but circumstances are such that they simply can’t make the trip in 2024. We will miss them and hope that they will be able to return in the future.

As we look forward to the future, we are considering two possible options to keep the Day Camp Ministry going for years to come.

1. We will be looking for another mission team to provide a VBS type program in the same way we have in the past. This method works well if the team is a quality team and are willing to do multiple years. Breaking in a new team every year is hard on the both the Braes and the campers.
2. We are also considering the possibility of finding a Program Director who will lead all program related aspects of the camp. This would allow us to make the program our own and provide consistency from year to year. However, this also depends on a Program Director being there from year to year and it also increases the financial burden of the program substantially.

Both of these ideas have pros and cons and there is no perfect option. We are seeking your prayers for God to give us wisdom and direction as we make decisions. We do not want to see this program disappear. This is an important ministry in this area, and we want it to continue.

The Annual Banquet at High Braes Refuge is just about a month away and seats are filling up. More than half the available seats have been reserved.
