Minburn Thanksgjving service will be tonight (Sunday, Nov.20) at 7pm. This service is a partnership between Minburn United Methodist Church and the Washington Chapel.
After the service we have pie/desserts and lemonade/coffee ; )

We pray for our church leaders every Sunday. We include our conference bishop in our prayers. Our bishop, Bp. Laurie Haller has been on medical leave since April 1.
Bishop Deborah Kiesey has been serving as our interim bishop during this time.

I am familiar with St. Paul Lutheran Church from my time as pastor of First United Methodist Church in Winterset. This incident came to our attention this morning. Praise God that it ended without violent altercation between the suspect and law enforcement officers at the scene!

I am reminded by these words in today’s Upper Room devotion that the person who believes Jesus knows that even in rough and tumble circumstances, he or she is never godforsaken. We may be frail creatures. But we can be people of courage because of God abiding presence with us. This hope-sustaining knowledge has empowered the Gospel movement for two thousand years now and is not letting up anytime soon!
