ཉེ་འཆར་བལ་བོད་ས་མཚམས་སུ་ཆུ་ལོག་གིས་རྐྱེན་འདས་སུ་སོང་བ་དང་། ད་ལྟ་དཀའ་ངལ་ནང་དངོས་སུ་མྱོང་བཞིན་པའི་ནང་མི་བུ་འཕྲུག་དང་བཅས་པའི་ཆེད་དུ། ཁེ་སང་ཆོས་ཚོགས་སུ་དབང་བསྐུར་བ་དང་བསྟུན་བསྔོ་སྨོན་ཞུས་ཤིང་། ད་རིང་ཡང་ཐེག་པ་ཆེ་ཆུང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་དང་དད་ལྡན་པ་ལྷན་འཛོམས་ཐོག་ནས་བསྔོ་སྨོན་ཞུས་པ་ཡིན།

For those who have recently lost their lives due to the devastating floods along the Nepal–Tibet border, as well as for the families, children, and others who are currently experiencing hardship as a direct result of this disaster, prayers and dedications were offered yesterday in conjunction with the empowerment at the DNKL Center.

Today, once again, prayers and dedications were offered in the presence of the assembled Sangha members and devoted practitioners from both the Theravada and Mahayana, for the benefit and well-being of all those affected.

July 18, 2026: Buddha’s First Teaching

Called Chokhor Düchen, this important day falls on the fourth day of the sixth lunar month. This day is the third “great occasion” or düchen in the Tibetan Buddhist calendar. It celebrates the first teaching by the historical Buddha, named Siddhartha at birth and commonly known as Shakyamuni Buddha.

On this day, over 2,500 years ago, the Buddha taught the Four Noble Truths in Sarnath, shortly after attaining enlightenment in Bodh Gaya. This event is known as the “turning of the wheel of dharma”. In Theravada traditions, this event is remembered on Dhamma Day, also known as Asalha Puja, and is generally marked on the full moon of the eighth lunar month. To celebrate Chokhor Düchen, Tibetan Buddhists make pilgrimages to holy places, offer incense, and hang prayer flags.​​
