β€œOne of God’s greatest gifts to us is the privilege of prayerβ€”a privilege that is possible because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. Thank God for the privilege of prayer and learn daily to β€˜give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you’ (1 Peter 5:7, NLT).” β€”Billy Graham

One last thing...

Maybe there is something you're still waiting for God to give you. Keep praying for it. Keep hoping. If there is something you can do, keep doing it.

But while you're waiting for what you want from God, don't miss what you already have in Him.

You have a Father who loves you. A God who hears you when you pray. Someone who knows every part of you, including your flaws, and still wants you close. Someone who has been with you through every good time, every disappointing moment, every prayer that was answered and every one you're still waiting on.

And when the things you thought would always be there are no longer there, God will still be there. Maybe that's why Hebrews 13:5 says, β€œBe content with what you have, because God has said, β€˜Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”

God didn't promise that you would always have everything you wanted. He promised that you would always have Him.

And maybe today, before you ask Him for anything else, take a moment to remember what that means.

You have God. And God is enough.

Let God be the first place you go...

It's easy to say we depend on God. But where do you turn first when something goes wrong?

Do you immediately start worrying? Call someone? Search everywhere you know for answers? Try to fix everything yourself, then pray when none of it works?

There's nothing wrong with asking people for help or trying to solve a problem. But God shouldn't be the last place we go after everything else has failed.

So the next time something happens, try something simple. Before you run through every possible outcome in your head, talk to God.

Tell Him what happened. Tell Him what you're afraid of. Ask Him for wisdom. Ask Him for strength. And then do whatever you need to do next.

Depending on God doesn't mean doing nothing. It means whatever you have to do, you don't do it without Him. Going to God should be your first response, not your last resort. Amen.

You still have God...

There is a beautiful moment in Psalm 73 when Asaph says: β€œWhom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:25–26

Those are really powerful words. Yes, Asaph still needed people around him. He still had problems he wanted God to solve.
But in spite of all of that, he remembered that he had God. And even if everything around him changed, God wouldn't.

There will be times when the thing you prayed for doesn't happen. Times when someone you thought would always be there isn't. Times when you've done everything you know to do and you still don't know what to do next.

Those moments can make you feel like you have nothing left. But you still have God.

You still have someone to pray to when you don't know what else to do. Someone who sees your heart and knows what you're afraid of. Someone who can give you strength when you have none left and peace when nothing around you feels peaceful.

That's what makes God different from everything else we depend on. He doesn't run out. He doesn't become less faithful because your life became more difficult. He doesn't stop being God because something you prayed for didn't happen the way you hoped.

And maybe that's what Asaph had come to understand. His strength could fail. His heart could fail. God wouldn't.

Even when things seems to be falling apart all around you, remember that God is still good.
