Surrender is rarely easy. We hold tightly to people, plans, expectations, and outcomes because letting go feels risky. Yet God often invites us to release what was never ours to carry. Peace doesn't always come when circumstances change; sometimes it comes when we finally trust God enough to place those circumstances in His hands. Is there something God may be asking you to surrender today?

Not every closed door is rejection. Sometimes it is protection. Sometimes God, in His wisdom and love, keeps us from opportunities, relationships, or paths that are not part of His plan for us. In the moment, a closed door can feel disappointing, confusing, or even painful. But with time, we often look back and see God's faithfulness in what He withheld. What feels like a setback today may actually be His grace guiding you toward something better. Trust that if God closes a door, He has not forgotten you. He is leading you according to His perfect purpose and timing.

God is often more concerned with deep healing than quick progress. Sometimes He slows us down because our soul cannot heal at spirit speed. What feels like a delay may actually be His mercy, giving us time to heal, grow, and be strengthened before moving forward. If you’re in a slower season, don’t assume God has forgotten you, trust that the Shepherd who leads you also knows how to restore your soul. “He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:3

Sitting With God

In a world that constantly tells us to do more, achieve more, and fix more, what if God is asking something different? What if, before the prayers, the plans, the questions, and the requests, He is simply inviting us to sit with Him? In this episode of Butterfly Thoughts with Kelly Savage, we explore the possibility that God's greatest desire may not be our performance, but our presence. Join me as we reflect on what happens when we stop striving and simply spend time with the One who loves us most.

The Gift Of Feeling Safe: Acceptance Without Judgement

What makes someone feel safe? Not just physically safe, but emotionally and spiritually safe. In this episode of Butterfly Thoughts with Kelly Savage, we explore one of the most healing gifts we can offer another person: acceptance without judgment. While acceptance doesn't mean approving of everything or abandoning truth, it does mean seeing people as God sees them—with dignity, compassion, grace, and love....

There comes a point when the constant pressure to do more, achieve more, and become more leaves us feeling exhausted rather than fulfilled. We chase goals, opportunities, approval, and success, believing that the next accomplishment will finally bring peace. Yet peace is not found at the end of striving. True rest is found in trusting God and remembering that our worth is not measured by our productivity. Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is stop chasing and start abiding. Have you ever found yourself exhausted from striving? What helped you find peace again?

We often ask God for guidance while filling every moment with noise, distractions, and endless responsibilities. Yet some of the most meaningful moments with Him happen when we slow down enough to listen. God's voice is not competing for our attention. He calls us gently, faithfully, and consistently through His Word and by His Spirit. Perhaps the question is not whether God is speaking, but whether we have created space to hear Him. What is one thing you can quiet this week to spend more time listening to God?
