Alsace has had a long and storied tradition of Christian worship, education, witness, and service. Since 1732, God's people at Alsace have gathered as a congregation in five different church structures on Alsace Hill. The present church edifice was dedicated in 1908 and a chapel was erected in 1990. Alsace membership is comprised of individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds. We are considere
d to be a regional church in that our members live in virtually all sections of Reading and Berks County, and even beyond! We faithfully preach and teach the living word of God to help you further develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Then, we nurture Christian lives by meeting spiritual needs and make disciples through our witness. We are, by the grace of God, the Alsace Lutheran Church. Pastor Richard Nelson arrived at Alsace in September of 1995 to serve as Associate Pastor. With the retirement of Pastor Brophy in 2013, he became the sole Pastor of Alsace Lutheran Church. Worship Services are at 9:00 AM on Sunday Mornings. The worship service is broadcast live on WRAW-1340 AM and on WRAW-1340's iHeart channel on http://www.iheart.com/live/Cool-Oldies-1340-WRAW-4862/. Sunday School is at 10:15 AM. Parking is available in three locations, the main lot, off of Kutztown road and a lot off of 11th Street. Alsace is handicapped accessible. Alsace offers many activities for the congregation. There are various musical groups for all ages. A senior club for ages 55 and up. A youth group for kids in grades 7-12 and Alsace Angels for kids grade 3-6. Alsace offers many other activities through out the year to benefit the various groups throughout the church.
