Brightness of Noon will be out tomorrow to share the love of Jesus with our friends on the streets.

Hey, y’all! I’ve got a few updates to share as well as some requests for donations.

The shower trailer truck’s transmission has been completed and we’re looking forward to hitting the streets with showers very soon!

We had a wonderful time with our friends at the outreach last weekend! They enjoyed biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs, sausage, hash browns, ham, yogurt and fruit 🍎 We offered showers, hygiene items and clean changes of clothes.

As we approach the spring and summer months, we are in need of the following items:

Sunscreen
Bug spray
Deodorant
Body wipes
Shorts (men’s and women’s)
Tennis shoes
Clothing hangers

Lastly, one of our members makes mats for the homeless using plastic grocery bags. If you have an abundance and would like to offload some, we’ll take those as well.

Donations can be dropped at First Assembly Raytown, located at 9800 E 350 Hwy, Raytown, MO 64133, Tuesday-Friday between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. If you need to arrange a pickup, please message me directly and I’d be happy to coordinate that with you.

Tomorrow is the second Saturday of the month, and that means OUTREACH DAY!

We'll be ready to roll at 11 a.m. with spaghetti, bread, salad & desserts for the meal, with the usual showers, clothes, haircuts & medical care.

If you have any lightly used shoes lying around we can definitely use them! Specifically, our supply of men's shoes is running low; anything you can give is greatly appreciated! We're so grateful for all the donations given over the last several months--your faithfulness in donating allows us to further stretch our ministry.

Brightness of Noon’s next outreach is scheduled for Saturday, March 14. As always, we will offer food, clothing, showers, medical care, and time of fellowship.

Also, the wonderful barbers from BLND Barbershop will be back offering haircuts! I love their hearts to help serve our friends. If you’re in need of a barber in the Raytown area, go visit BLND. Your support allows them to continue to give back to the community.

In anticipation of this month’s outreach, I’d like to do a push for donations of a few major needs. If you can help with donating any of the following, please reach out and I’d be happy to coordinate a pickup or dropoff with you:

Shoes (men’s and women’s)
Underwear (men’s and women’s)
Feminine hygiene products
Backpacks

If you would like to give monetarily, please contact me for information to do so.

Last, but certainly not least, we had a successful night at BINGO this past Friday, receiving some generous donations, which will allow us to get our mobile shower trailer back out this Spring. Praise God!

I’m blown away at what God did tonight! Our BINGO fundraiser was a great time and huge success! Enough money was raised that the mobile shower trailer will be operational VERY soon!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to each person that showed up to support the ministry tonight! Your support will provide showers to unhoused individuals, right where they’re at. Praise God!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Throughout the summer and fall we've been overly blessed with many clothing donations. And though we can always use those, especially men's clothes, we presently have a different need.

If you have extra sleeping bags, backpacks or blankets, please consider giving to BON. Our friends have just started experiencing the harshness of winter, and will need more provisions the next several months. You can message us this week to make drop-off arrangements.

Also, we're looking forward to this Saturday 12/13 and our next big outreach at 11 a.m.! We'll be serving a nice Christmas dinner and handing out gifts to our houseless community. If you'd like to serve at the outreach, or need picked up, message us here or contact Kim Gemmer!

We had a great day serving others. We had several returning friends, some we hadnt seen in far too long, and made some new ones, also.

We served a giant Thanksgiving feast of turkey, ham, brisket, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, rolls, green bean casserole, candied yams, cranberry sauce and pies galore, to about 40 people.

We had volunteers offering hair cuts, medical care, helping get clothes sorted through, outfits picked out, cooking, cleaning and loving on those who came in. I love that we have volunteers from within, and outside, the church! God brings us all together to get outside of ourselves and it makes for a truly beautiful time.

Thank you so much to everyone who helps with our outreaches! God has truly blessed this ministry and I see Him in each of you on these days.

I look forward to seeing everyone again on December 13! In the meantime, we are continuing to collect donations. Please connect with us here, or message directly, if you’d like to donate items, serve, or give monetarily.
