Shrine of Our Mother of Mercy is a Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana. It was established in 1924 and serves the community of Rayne, Louisiana. MASS SCHEDULE:

Tuesday and Friday: 7:00a.m. Wednesday Novena Mass: 6p.m. Saturday Vigil: 5:30p.m. Sunday Mass: 10:00a.m. CONFESSION: Saturday after Mass or by Appointment

PASTOR'S OFFICE HOURS: Wednesday and Friday 9a.m. - 6p.m. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION:

Grades: K - 5th meet every Sunday before Mass at 8:15

Grades: 6th - 11th Meet One Sunday a month (schedule given)

Note: Confirmation begins Cycle I (9th grade) , then Cycle II (10th grade) and concludes Cycle III (11th grade)

To every volunteer, teacher, parent, participant, donor, and prayer warrior, we are grateful.

Because of your yes, seeds were planted, hearts were encouraged, and our church was reminded that GOD is still working.

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Bishop John H. Ricard, S.S.J., Superior General of The Josephites, who entered eternal rest on the evening of May 20, 2026.

We thank GOD for Bishop Ricard’s faithful service, unwavering leadership, and the countless lives he impacted through his ministry, wisdom, and love for GOD’s people. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of so many.

Please join our parish community in praying for the peaceful repose of his soul and for all who mourn this tremendous loss.

May Bishop Ricard rest in eternal peace.

A Heart Ready to Change

Conversion is not a one-time moment. It is a daily decision.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew within me a steadfast spirit.” (Psalm 51:12 – NABRE)

Each day of Lent invites us to look honestly at our hearts.

Where do we need patience, humility, or mercy? GOD is always ready to renew what we are willing to surrender.

Faith in the Ordinary

Most of life is ordinary. Work, responsibilities, and daily routines. Yet holiness grows right there.

“Whatever you do, do from the heart, as for the Lord.” (Colossians 3:23 – NABRE)

Lent reminds us that faith is not only practiced in church. It is practiced in patience, in kindness, and in n the way we treat people every day. Small acts done with love become sacred.

Are you inviting GOD into the ordinary moments of your day?

A Soft Heart

Lent is meant to soften us. Not harden us.

“Today, if you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” (Psalm 95:7–8 – NABRE)

A soft heart listens. A soft heart forgives.
A soft heart responds to the voice of GOD.

Sometimes disappointment, hurt, or pride slowly hardens us. But GOD is always inviting us back to tenderness.

Is your heart open to GOD’s voice today?
