Be Still, Rest, and Trust God

Our greatest strength is not found in trying to control everything, but in surrendering everything to God. In Isaiah 30:15, God calls His people to return to Him, rest in His presence, and find strength through quiet confidence. Yet the verse ends with the words, “and ye would not.” They struggled to trust God because they wanted to handle things their own way.

Psalm 46:10 gives us that same invitation: “Be still, and know that I am God.” God is reminding us that we don't have to fight every battle, solve every problem, or understand every situation.

Sometimes we become so busy trying to make things happen that we forget to trust the One who holds everything in His hands. Being still doesn't mean God isn't moving. It means we trust Him enough to stop striving and let Him be God.

Isaiah tells us where our strength comes from—quietness and confidence in God.

Psalm 46 tells us why we can be still—because He is God, and He is in control.

It’s Not Where You Start, but Where You Finish!

Sometimes in life, we become discouraged because of where we started. Maybe we started with struggles, setbacks, disappointments, or mistakes. But be encouraged: Your beginning does not determine your ending!

You may have started in pain, but you can finish in purpose. You may have started in weakness, but you can finish in strength. You may have started with tears, but God can turn those tears into a testimony! Ecclesiastes reminds us that the end of a thing is better than its beginning. And Philippians reminds us that whatever good work God started in us, He is faithful to complete.

Don't allow a rough beginning to make you give up on a victorious ending!
It's not about how many times you've fallen; it's about getting back up and continuing to trust God.

You are not finished yet—God is still working on you! Your Ending Can Be Greater Than Your Beginning!

The Battle Is Spiritual, but the Victory Belongs to God

We are called to stand, fight, and pray—but God is the One who gives the increase. As believers, we must remember that we are engaged in a spiritual battle. Ephesians 6:10–12 reminds us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness.
Because our battle is spiritual, we cannot fight it with natural weapons.

In 2 Corinthians 10:3–5, Paul reminds us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for pulling down strongholds. Through God's power, we confront lies, tear down arguments that oppose His truth, and bring our thoughts into obedience to Christ.

So how do we engage in this battle? Through prayer!

Ephesians 6:18 tells us to pray always, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, remaining watchful and persevering. Prayer is not our last resort; it is an essential part of our spiritual warfare. When we pray, we acknowledge our dependence on God's strength rather than our own.

But here is the beautiful connection to 1 Corinthians 3:7: “So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase." We may plant seeds of truth, water them through encouragement, stand firm against the enemy, and intercede faithfully in prayer. But only God can produce true spiritual growth and transformation.

We are responsible for obedience, not for manufacturing the outcome. We cannot change hearts through arguments, overcome spiritual strongholds through human effort, or produce lasting fruit through our own strength. Our assignment is to stand in God's strength, fight with spiritual weapons, remain faithful in prayer, and trust God for the increase.

Reminder: We are Fasting the next three days for GROWTH in November. That GROWTH could mean different things on a personal level or even growth for the Church. We are going to PUSH (pray until something happens).

Access and Boundaries🚪

📖 “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” — Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)

One reminder from our Sunday School lesson is this: Just because someone wants access to your life doesn’t mean God has called you to give it.

Even Jesus practiced boundaries. He loved everyone, but He did not give everyone the same level of access to His time, His space, or His purpose.

Setting boundaries doesn’t mean you lack love. It means you’re learning to walk in wisdom.

💛 You can love someone and still say no.

💛 You can forgive someone without giving them the same access.

💛 You can be kind without sacrificing your peace.

💛 You can guard your heart without hardening it.

Fence represents your boundaries. Gates represents access. Everybody deserves kindness, but not everybody gets a key.

🙏 Today’s Prayer: Lord, give us wisdom to know when to open the gate and when to keep it closed. Teach us to love like You, set healthy boundaries, and protect the peace and purpose You have placed within us. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️
