I have been locked out of this page for months. Mabey just operator error. The split in the The United Methodist Church has resulted in us becoming an independent congregation with the name of FRIENDSHIP COMMUNITY METHODIST CHURCH. The deed to the property is to the cemetery association and the building is leased to the congregation that is composed of almost all the members of the former members of Friendship United Methodist Church Currently we have 18 members and are finically sound. So we begin new journey and hope to see you at the Homecoming the first Sunday of August

It was the annual Homecoming at Friendship Methodist Church and it was asked what happened to your face book page? The pastor just simply stopped using it. I came home and tested my ability to even get back on it and much to my surprise I could. We had a big handful of visitors today and with the regulars it made about 30 people in attendance. Besides talking about olden days we also discussed a new future as we leave the United Methodist to become Friendship Community Methodist Church and Friendship Cemetery of Ravenden. In the incorporation process we discovered how many Friendship Cemeterys exist so we had to add Ravenden to the name to better identify us. THANKS TO ALL WHO REMEMBERED THE FIRST SUNDAY IN AUGUST AT FRIENDSHIP.

Roger Laraway was an important part of the our Church. He always was ready to do a hymn for our worship, he was there to do physical labor when needed, and always brought laughter with him. He had been worshiping at Cherokee Village for a year or so but his death brings sorrow to us. However he finished his race and his faith will serve in the time to come.

We decided at some point to have a fellowship meal on New Years day I volunteered Elaine to make a pot of black eyed peas with hog jowl and corn bread. as of now she has not injured me so I will be there. Cabbage is also traditional. My FB is still acting up so I hope you see this

May the Lord Bless your Saturday as we plan for worship tomorrow. It is the first Sunday of the month, so it is potluck. It always is awkward to cancel services like I did last week but as it turned out it was probably a good idea but not because Elaine and I were exposed to covid but it would have been present anyway Thankfully it is working out and as far as I know everyone is healthy. Think about how we will do our Christmas day worship, I gave our refrigerator away but have found a couple of new ones I want to ask you about. Hope we will all be together tomorrow
