Since 2006/07 we have taken teens to serve with Eight Days of Hope in the name of Jesus/His church. This week, in partnership with Koinonia Christian Fellowship and Village Bible Church, we are in Oxford, MS. This is our first trip that is not a rebuilding project. It's "Rapid Response" going in right after a storm to remove debris and tarp roofs. The ice storm left a terrible swath of destruction. What a privilege to help others and involve teenagers serving in Jesus name!

We, a neighbor, and the county have all worked on clearing Lower Guntharp this week. However, the steepest hill faces directly north and still has ice on it at the bottom right at the low water bridge. With temps forecast to be below freezing by the time our Friday Teen Night ends, we have decided to call it off this week. Next week is kind of up in the air as we are planning a mission trip with Eight Days of Hope (still unsure what days) to help with storm cleanup in Oxford, MS. ...stay tuned! 🙂

The Cherokee Village fire chief was our guest speaker for homeschool group today. Sorry, to all our teachers who didn't get to teach today, but it's hard to compete with a fire truck! The kids enjoyed it and learned much.
