The moment when the sky ripped open during the historic G5 geomagnetic storm this past Friday night / early Saturday morning. Visible to the naked eye, blues, reds, yellows and greens filled the sky. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that I'd be shooting the aurora borealis, dancing overhead, in Kansas. A few years back, I came across this abandoned church and marked in on my map just in case I was back in the area for a sunset. Little did I know, I'd be spontaneously driving nine hours north to photograph it with the aurora. I hope you all enjoy and as always, please feel free to share.

What a once in a lifetime opportunity we had. Being the only people in during a once in a lifetime event was epic of the highest level. We may possibly have captured what might be the only shots ever take of the Northern Lights inside Cades cove. "Always Never The Same"
