Sharon Dillon, 85, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024 in Pullman, Washington. Sharon was born on March 29, 1938, to Waldon and Verona Thompson in Wichita, Kansas. Sharon & Dwayne married in 1961 and moved to several places around Colorado due to Dwayne’s job. They eventually moved to Washington and lived in Spokane and Grand Coulee. They adopted two children, Dennis and Delisa, while living in Spokane. In 1977 they moved to Rathdrum, Idaho.
In 1978 Sharon helped start the Rathdrum Food Bank and had been instrumental in running it ever since, right up until shortly before her death. Her work there was all volunteer and was something she deeply believed in and enjoyed doing. She also spent many years running a day care, helping with the WIC program, and many other community and school programs. She was outgoing and loved to talk to people, and many people in the Rathdrum area knew her.
