When you experience a life-changing moment, it will transform you forever.
Monterial found Christ and started living his life in line with God’s word. Many may have thought it was just a phase but it was definitely a life defining moment.

Take care of yourself, but always stay close to God, no matter what happens. When you keep your focus on God and keep your relationships in line with God's will for your life, no matter what happens, you will be able to stay within His grasp.

Because of her close relationship with God, Stella desired a marriage designed by God, not herself. If you’ve been following along you know that God had his hand all over this relationship and still does!

We’re taking time this month to share the story of our Pastor and his wife. Their journey started in a prison and led to 3.5 years as pen pals. This back and forth communication was a big part of their journey as they grew closer and learned more about each other with each letter.
But it didn’t always go smooth. There was a moment when Stella realized she was getting closer to Monterial than she ever imagined… and she decided that she needed to step away to find herself.

Balance - (n.) an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.
Monterial was only 17 years old when he first entered prison. He remembers the look Stella gave him - the look that reminded him of how young he was to be in that position.
He was wild when she came into his life. She was focused and calm. She brought much needed balance to his life.

For someone having never been to a prison before, She wasn’t sure what to expect.
Just imagining, “maybe we’re going to be behind the glass or behind bars or something. I didn’t know what to expect so I was already on edge when I got there.”
But everyone was in the same room.

And here’s how the story of Pastor and Lady Bynoe began…

Monterial had been serving time in prison and that’s where he and Stella first made eye contact. Stella, along with her church choir, visited the prison to minister. She had never been in a prison before and was very nervous.

So how did he catch her eye? It was Stella’s aunt who noticed him first! She commented on how nice he looked in his prison clothes. Stella was shocked that anyone could make prison clothes look good so she had to see for herself.

When she turned to look… their eyes locked. And that’s when it started.
