The world's love has always come with conditions, even when it doesn't say so out loud. Perform, and you're loved. Fail, and you're benched.

We carry that into how we imagine God, whether we mean to or not.

But God's love was never a performance review.

Picture the coach who's actually for you. You make an error, and he doesn't bench you. He says, let's hold your glove this way. Let's keep running.

That's closer to what God's posture toward you actually looks like.

Your standing with Him was never based on your last good day, or your worst one.

Action Step: Today, when you notice yourself trying to earn God's approval, stop and say out loud: God is for me. Say it again if you need to.

**What if one of the most powerful ways you advance the Kingdom of God is simply by loving someone well?**

We often think of Kingdom work as something big, like preaching, leading, serving, or doing something that has a clear impact.

But Jesus often works through things that seem much more ordinary.

**Relationships.**

Building a new relationship.
Bridging a divide.
Mending something that’s been broken.
Healing a relationship marked by hurt or animosity.
Or simply taking a good relationship and investing in it until it becomes even healthier.

Every time we choose reconciliation over resentment, connection over isolation, or investment over neglect, something of God’s Kingdom breaks into our everyday lives.

You don’t have to change the whole world today.

Maybe you just need to build one bridge.
Heal one relationship.
Or invest a little more deeply in someone you already love.

**Because every time you make a relationship healthier, the Kingdom of God is advancing.**

**Action Step:** Ask God, *”What relationship are You inviting me to build, heal, or strengthen?”* Then take one small step today. You could send a text, make a call, apologize, invite someone to coffee, or simply tell someone you appreciate them.

Once a week for 8 weeks we’ll be posting 8 essential skills for every Christian.

Week 1 — Hearing God

It’s easy to ask God for an answer. It’s harder to actually wait for one.

Most of us fill the silence before God gets a chance to fill it Himself.

But hearing God was never about volume. It’s about attention.

Whose voice have you been leaning on this season? The noise around you, or the One who’s actually speaking?

He speaks in more ways than we usually notice — through Scripture, through a nudge, through another person, through a thought that won’t leave you alone.

You don’t have to earn a response. You just have to get quiet enough to notice one.

Action Step: Ask God two questions today. What do You want me to know? What do You want me to do? Then sit in silence for five minutes before you move on.

What a great Sunday! 🤍 We’re so thankful for every person who gathered with us, worshiped with us, served, connected, and made this community so special. We’re grateful for you!

This Sunday, we continued our series Epic Prayers of the Bible by looking at Hannah and her honest, heartfelt prayer.

We were reminded that God doesn’t need us to edit our hearts before we come to Him. We can bring Him our honest prayers—the messy ones, the hard ones, the things we don’t understand—knowing that because of Jesus, we can approach God with confidence.

So this week, ask yourself:

What have I been holding back from God?

Whatever it is, pour it out. Bring it honestly to Him, and then trust Him enough to leave it in His hands. 🙏

We’re so thankful for Sundays together and for a God who invites us to come exactly as we are.

**What if you stopped trying to work it out before you poured it out?**

We often think we need to get ourselves together before we come to God.

Fix our attitude. Calm down. Figure out the solution. Make a plan. Then bring it to God and ask Him to bless it.

But God isn’t waiting for you to have it all figured out.

He says, **come.**

Come with the anger.
Come with the confusion.
Come with the disappointment.
Come with the questions.
Come with the things you don’t understand yet.

**Pour it out before you work it out.**

God can handle your honest prayers. And sometimes the very things we’re trying so hard to figure out on our own are the things God wants us to surrender so He can begin putting the pieces together in ways we never could have imagined.

You don’t have to come to God with a finished plan.

Come with your heart.

Let Him meet you there.

**Action Step:** The next time something is weighing on you, resist the urge to immediately figure it out. Before making a plan, spend a few minutes telling God exactly what you’re feeling and what you’re afraid of.

**The world doesn’t need more advice. It needs more people who have been with God.**

Think about the people who’ve impacted your life the most.

Chances are, it wasn’t because they had all the right answers.

It was because they carried a peace you couldn’t explain.
A hope that didn’t make sense.
A confidence that pointed beyond themselves.

That’s what happens when someone has truly encountered God.

When people come to you carrying anxiety, grief, or questions, they don’t just need your wisdom. They need someone who knows the presence of God well enough to say, **”Let’s pray. God is going to meet us here.”**

We can’t give away what we haven’t first received.

The more we encounter God in private, the more His presence naturally overflows into the lives of others.

The greatest gift you may offer someone today isn’t perfect advice—it’s introducing them to the God who changes everything.

**Action Step:** Before your next conversation, meeting, or phone call, pause for thirty seconds and pray, *”Lord, let people encounter You through me today.”* Then watch for opportunities to bring His presence into someone else’s story

**What if the story someone needs to hear is yours?**

This year, we’ve been learning that prayer is more than presenting requests to God—it’s growing in relationship with Him. We’ve explored what it means to listen, trust, surrender, and pray with confidence. And now, as we step into a season of praying for one another, we want to pause and remember God’s faithfulness.

Answered prayers remind us that God is present, attentive, and at work—often in ways we don’t expect. Every story becomes an encouragement that strengthens the faith of our church family and reminds us to keep praying, even when the answer takes time.

As we begin praying for one another, let’s also celebrate what God has already done.

**Sometimes God doesn’t give you an answer. He asks you a question.**

We often come to God wanting Him to explain everything.

Why is this happening?
What am I supposed to do?
How do I get out of this?

But sometimes, in the middle of our confusion, God meets us with a different kind of invitation.

He asks us to stop and notice where we are, where we’ve come from, and where we’re going.

Because God’s questions aren’t meant to leave us stuck. They’re meant to help us see.

He speaks in different ways—through Scripture, through an unexpected moment of clarity, through another person, or sometimes through a quiet realization that suddenly makes everything look different.

And even when you feel like you’ve run out of options, you’re never outside the reach of a God who sees you and speaks to you.

Maybe the question God is asking you today isn’t *”How are you going to fix this?”*

Maybe it’s simply:

**”Where have you come from, and where are you going?”**

**Action Step:** Find five quiet minutes today. Ask God, *”What are You wanting me to see right now?”* Then sit in silence and listen. Don’t rush to find an answer. Give God room to speak.
