Luke 4:18-19 NIV "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
This Gospel is what we are called to receive, proclaim, and extend to others. Just like those bound in slavery who were awaiting a message of freedom, many today are still waiting for this emancipation proclamation. The Good News is that the Lord declared, “IT IS FINISHED” on the cross, and that proclamation still rings true today. dom as we vow to continue to learn, grow, and act in accordance with the Word. This is not about political parties, and whatever news channels say, this is about the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Jesus!
Today is and it’s a day to celebrate Jubilee in our land and lives, and to continue to promote the Gospel truth for all. On June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger landed with Union soldiers in Galveston, Texas, with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were free. Today, we celebrate resilience and freedom as we vow to continue to learn, grow, and act in accordance with the Word. This is not about political parties and whatever news channels say, this is about the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Jesus!
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a hopeful message of freedom, liberation, justice, and wholeness, and it’s for all people!
