Jesus is not a god who cannot sympathize with our suffering. He, Himself, suffered supreme injustice as He was condemned to death despite His innocence. He, Himself, was the victim of man's selfishness.

When we suffer, we can know that Christ is suffering along with us. We are not alone.

And when we see others suffering, we can see Christ in their eyes and stand up for them as we ought to have done for Him.

Amen.

Church is not a nice suggestion that might make us better people. Regular church attendance is a command from God. Period. Without it, our faith becomes weak, and we are easily lead astray into disobedience, rebellion, and unbelief.

We wonder why today's young people have walked away from the Church. Maybe it is because their parents didn't make it their priority. We wonder why we feel so alone, and yet refuse to take hold of the community God has put forward for us. We feel as though our lives are empty and meaningless. The Church has always been and always will be the place where the believer is physically and tangibly connected with their purpose in life.
