Rosalyn Irene Salmons, 86, of Tower Hill, IL, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Pastor Tonna Percival officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Robinson Creek Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL.
Rosalyn was born on June 18, 1940, in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of William and Frances (Eckart) Wooten. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in 1958, where she was active in FHA. Rosalyn married James Edgar “Jim” Salmons on November 26, 1961, and they were blessed with three daughters, Carolyn, Cynthia, and Catherine. Rosalyn was a former member of the Robinson Creek United Methodist Church, Tower Hill United Methodist Church, and Herrick United Methodist Church and was currently attending the Tower Hill Free Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Tower Hill Order of Eastern Star and PTA at Tower Hill Schools, where she served as president.
Rosalyn is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Fry (Kevin) of Tower Hill, IL, Cynthia Salmons of Tower Hill, IL, and Catherine Brown (Roy) of Tower Hill, IL; three grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Vicky Wooten of Mt. Zion, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Wooten; husband, Jim Salmons on March 1, 2024; and brother, Frank Wooten.
