If someone won the lottery and paid for everyone to eat lunch at the local cafe with a ticket that said “paid in full”, would you accept it? Certainly you would! Wouldn’t you be thankful and love that person for what they did? If there was a man of God who was punished for your sins, died for everything you’ve ever done wrong, had it all erased and gave you a ticket for an eternal life that never ends after you die, would you take the ticket? Wouldn’t you take the ticket and be thankful and love that man for what He did? Surely you would. Jesus did that. He wants you to be in eternity with Him where lunch is free everyday! Just take the ticket.

In case you missed it…the winner of American Idol, Hannah Harper, sang “At the Cross” in tears after she won last night. Christ is King and He will overcome the world! Never underestimate how God can work through the things we give worldly names to and use His people to spread His word! His light will always shine! “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth.”

“Why have you forsaken me?” Have you ever asked that question? Has your world ever been so harsh and broken that you felt like even God didn’t care anymore? He does. Always. He did not forsake Jesus in His most excruciating time of suffering. God used that time to show us that HIS SON, Jesus, suffered like we do, but worse. Because of Jesus’s death, and the way that He died, we have assurance that our sufferings will never compare to His. Dying for the sins of this world was painful and horrific. While Jesus was here, He taught us how to love and how to live but we will suffer. God will never forsake us because we are SAVED! Jesus saved us on that horrible day, he took our punishment and buried it in that tomb. He left it there and walked away…ALIVE!! And that is what we will do one day when our time comes! We will LIVE like never before! Hallelujah! Praise God! Jesus Christ is Lord!
