🚨 NORTH CAROLINAAA, GO ON AND RAISE UP…

Because one word in SB 1006 changes everything. 😡

May means districts decide.
Shall means districts comply.

NC SB 1006 would turn released-time religious instruction from something public schools can choose to allow into something they are required to make room for.

And this is not happening in isolation. Other states have already moved in this direction.

🚨This is how programs like LifeWise expand: by changing state law so public school time gets carved up for private religious instruction.

Public school time should be for public education.

🚫Not religious recruitment.
🚫Not Bible class during the school day.
🚫Not private religious programs getting guaranteed access to the public school week.

Happy Teacher Appreciation week! Show NC a budget that supports fully funding public education!

Teacher Aprreciation.
Show our teachers some love by advocation on their behalf. Teacher Appreciation should be reflected in budgets, laws, and policies, not just baked goods and gift cards.

Pastors for NC Children and our project were so honored and glad to be able to participate in the Rally with educators on Friday in Raleigh at the Legislature. We offered prayer with those who wanted it. We also reminded our teachers, assistants, bus drivers, nutrition specialists, counselors, psychologists, and all those who care for our children that we love them and they matter.
