☘️ Start St. Patrick’s Day the Right Way – Join Us for Mass ☘️

The Wake County Division #1 of the Ancient Order of Hibernians invites everyone to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the best way possible — by beginning the day in prayer.

Join us for St. Patrick’s Day Mass at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Raleigh on Tuesday, March 17th at 1:00 PM as we honor St. Patrick, Bishop and Apostle of Ireland.

This special Mass celebrates the faith that St. Patrick brought to Ireland and that generations of Irish immigrants carried with them across the world.

All are welcome to join us as we celebrate our shared heritage and the Hibernian motto of Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity.

☘️ Bodhrán Workshop Brings Irish Rhythm to Our Division ☘️

Following our March 11 meeting, members of our division had the opportunity to take part in a lively bodhrán workshop led by Derek Burpee, administrator of the International Bodhrán Group on Facebook, a community of more than 2,000 bodhrán players and enthusiasts.

Members learned the fundamentals of Ireland’s traditional drum, including how to hold the bodhrán and tipper, play rhythms for jigs and reels, and techniques such as triplets and different playing styles. The workshop welcomed both experienced players and members who picked up the instrument for the very first time.

We were also fortunate to have Dr. Eric Hahn accompany the group on the uilleann pipes and Irish flute, giving everyone the chance to practice playing along with live traditional Irish music.

With extra drums available and a variety of tippers to try, everyone was able to join in and experience the rhythm of Irish music together.

🦃💚 Thanksgiving Turkey Drop-Off Complete! 💚🦃

This afternoon our AOH Division delivered all of the donated frozen turkeys, food pantry items, and supplies to the New Bern House in downtown Raleigh.

Thanks to the generosity of our members, friends, and partners at D's Bottle Shop and Craft Beer College and Norse Brewing Company, we were able to support this incredible transitional home that helps families get back on their feet and runs a weekend soup kitchen for those in need.

Your kindness will make a real difference for local families this Thanksgiving.
We’re grateful for every turkey, every can, every dollar, and every prayer.

☘️ Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity in action.
Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s drive a success! 🍁🦃💚
