Hello Sisters,

“…you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.
As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.”
1 Peter 2:9

Mothers Day can potentially trigger a host of emotions and whether you celebrate the day or not, it’s important to know that one day does not determine your worth or significance.

Jesus continually redefined the value of women through His teachings, love and compassion, and the way He welcomed women into His ministry and daily life. While Mary, the mother of Jesus, played a profound role in His life, scripture also highlights many other women who walked alongside Him — supporting His ministry, opening their homes, caring for practical needs, and faithfully serving. These women came from different backgrounds and seasons of life. Some were mothers, some were childless, some single, some widowed, some businesswomen — yet all were seen, loved, and welcomed at His table.

Whatever this day may look like for you, and whatever your current circumstances may be, please remember this: you are important, you matter, and your life carries great significance — not because of a title, relationship, role, or accomplishment, but because of the precious sacrifice Jesus made for you on the cross.

God deeply values you and has given your life Kingdom purpose. For some, that may include motherhood and raising children, but for all of us it includes loving Him, serving others, and sharing the hope of the Gospel wherever God has placed us.

Please don’t define your worth by relationship status, what you do, where you serve, or by what others may or may not say about you. You are so much more than that.

Perhaps you are in a season of waiting. Perhaps life feels full and exhausting with parenting or grandparenting responsibilities. Maybe you are walking through disappointment, broken relationships, grief, regret, or loss. Or perhaps all is well in your life. Whatever life looks like right now, never forget that you are first and foremost a daughter of the Most High God — invited to sit at the feet of Jesus, to receive from Him before doing anything for Him.

Sisters, my prayer for you is that you would experience the peace, comfort, and unfailing love of your Heavenly Father in a fresh way this Mother’s Day.

“Father,

Thank You for every woman reading this today. You see her and hear the cries of her heart. You know the cares and desires she carries and You hold her in the palm of Your Hand. Please remind her that her strength comes from You, and that her worth is secure in who You say she is. Where there is heaviness, bring comfort. Where there is weariness, renew her strength. Help her walk in quiet confidence and grace, knowing she is Your beloved daughter.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.”

“He is not here; He has risen!”
Luke 24:6

Have you ever paused to consider what Easter means to you—personally?

As I’ve been reading the accounts of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection in the Gospels this week, I’ve been struck not only by the women who quietly served Him, but also by their faithfulness. They were present at His brutal crucifixion—can you imagine watching the One you love suffer such a horrific death?—and they were also the first to see and hear the voice of the risen Jesus.

I couldn’t help but notice a thread of the unexpected woven throughout the story. The same crowds who adored Jesus on Palm Sunday turned on Him and called for His crucifixion five days later. His followers were filled with distress as they realized that the circumstances did not match their expectations of deliverance. After all, they were expecting a Messiah who would free them from Roman oppression, as foretold by the prophets. Jesus said He was the Son of God, the long-awaited Messiah—but how could that be if He lay in a tomb? How could He deliver His people if He was dead?

And then, on the third day—the unexpected resurrection.

Mary went to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body with spices, as was customary. To her great distress, she found the tomb empty. It must have seemed as though all hope was gone—that the promise of deliverance and life had died, and even His body was missing.

But God.

His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts—they are so much higher than ours. The fulfillment of His promise was far greater and more powerful than the disciples could have ever imagined. God’s plan, set in motion long ago, was not just for Israel, but for all people—for all time. It was not deliverance from Roman oppression, but deliverance from sin and death. Not just for a moment, but for eternity.

In what unexpected ways has God revealed Himself in your life?

Why not set aside some time to be with the Lord this week—reflect on the significance of the crucifixion and resurrection, and what it means to you personally—and respond to Him in worship.

“Father, I thank You for Your great love for mankind, and for me personally. Thank You for providing a way for my deliverance from sin and death through faith in Your beloved Son, Jesus, the Messiah. I ask that You forgive me for living life my own way. Cleanse me from all sin, guilt, condemnation, and shame. Lord, I believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and I put my trust in You. Please come into my heart and help me to live for You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

I pray that we will see the Presence of the Lord in our everyday lives in unexpected way.

Happy Easter! He is Risen!
