Hello Sisters,
“…you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.
As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.”
1 Peter 2:9
Mothers Day can potentially trigger a host of emotions and whether you celebrate the day or not, it’s important to know that one day does not determine your worth or significance.
Jesus continually redefined the value of women through His teachings, love and compassion, and the way He welcomed women into His ministry and daily life. While Mary, the mother of Jesus, played a profound role in His life, scripture also highlights many other women who walked alongside Him — supporting His ministry, opening their homes, caring for practical needs, and faithfully serving. These women came from different backgrounds and seasons of life. Some were mothers, some were childless, some single, some widowed, some businesswomen — yet all were seen, loved, and welcomed at His table.
Whatever this day may look like for you, and whatever your current circumstances may be, please remember this: you are important, you matter, and your life carries great significance — not because of a title, relationship, role, or accomplishment, but because of the precious sacrifice Jesus made for you on the cross.
God deeply values you and has given your life Kingdom purpose. For some, that may include motherhood and raising children, but for all of us it includes loving Him, serving others, and sharing the hope of the Gospel wherever God has placed us.
Please don’t define your worth by relationship status, what you do, where you serve, or by what others may or may not say about you. You are so much more than that.
Perhaps you are in a season of waiting. Perhaps life feels full and exhausting with parenting or grandparenting responsibilities. Maybe you are walking through disappointment, broken relationships, grief, regret, or loss. Or perhaps all is well in your life. Whatever life looks like right now, never forget that you are first and foremost a daughter of the Most High God — invited to sit at the feet of Jesus, to receive from Him before doing anything for Him.
Sisters, my prayer for you is that you would experience the peace, comfort, and unfailing love of your Heavenly Father in a fresh way this Mother’s Day.
“Father,
Thank You for every woman reading this today. You see her and hear the cries of her heart. You know the cares and desires she carries and You hold her in the palm of Your Hand. Please remind her that her strength comes from You, and that her worth is secure in who You say she is. Where there is heaviness, bring comfort. Where there is weariness, renew her strength. Help her walk in quiet confidence and grace, knowing she is Your beloved daughter.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.”
