This Sunday, we'll hear the story of Jesus' feeding the 5000 with five loaves and two fish. Jesus was aware of the needs around him because he had the heart, mind and spirit of God. He didn't question their need. May we all be encouraged to meet someone’s hunger today! Join us at 10:30am for worship and children's church!

This Sunday, we'll hear The Parable of the Treasure. Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to the joy that is found when we uncover a treasure that someone else has hidden in a field. But what if we have hidden our own treasures from ourselves? God calls us to realize where our true treasures lie, and to take the joy that is found with them into the world. This Sunday, we hear from Matthew 13:24-30, the parable often referred to as The Wheat and the Tares. Jesus says that wheat and w**ds grow together and that we are not responsible for pulling up the w**ds. In other words, Jesus is saying that judging who is wheat and who is w**d belongs only to God! Thanks be to God that we are free from making those decisions! Join us at 10:30am for worship and children's church!

This Sunday we’ll hear from 1 John 4:7-16 and from Julian of Norwich’s writings. In our sermon, “A Revelation of Divine Love,” Pastor Dawson will reflect on his time at St. Mark’s and share how he sees God moving in and through the St. Mark’s community. Bishop Connie Shelton appoints Rev. Dawson Lane, current Associate Pastor at St. Mark's UMC - Midtown Methodist, as Associate Director for Clergy Life, effective July 1. Dawson will work to intentionally identify and equip potential candidates for ministry who have the gifts for licensed and ordained ministry in the NC Conference. While serving part-time in The Office of Clergy Life, Dawson will also serve part-time as the pastor of Holly Springs UMC, beginning in July.

We look forward to Dawson’s contributions as he builds upon the ministry of Rev. Hope Ledbetter-Bock. Hope will conclude her appointment as Associate Director of New Faith Communities and Clergy Life at the end of this appointment year. She returns to local church ministry as Lead Pastor of Duke Memorial United Methodist Church, starting July 1.
