In addition to June 21st being Father's Day, it is also when we as a church community will celebrate Juneteenth with a special worship service. Our guest preacher for Juneteenth will be our very own Annette Ethridge!
Annette Ethridge grew up in New Jersey, traveling and singing with her sisters. Her family then moved to North Carolina, and she continued her education, earning numerous degrees. She spent most of her work career serving Governors Hunt, Easley, and Perdue in their Governmental Affairs Offices.
Annette then moved into ministry and attended Duke Divinity School while she served in the NC Eastern Conference of the United Methodist Church. Her titles have been: worship leader, minister of outreach and community engagement, associate pastor, and pastor. She was honored to serve Open Table from 2018 to 2020 as associate pastor.
Annette's passions are missions, social justice, serving those less fortunate, and most importantly, loving others.
Annette lives in Raleigh with two of her children, Chrissy and Wave. Her third child, Antwone, lives in Raleigh with his wife, Vimbai.
Annette's favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
