Shiloh Presbyterian Church

Shiloh Presbyterian Church A congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in the heart of Raleigh, NC Shiloh initially enjoyed many months of regularly rotating preachers.

Shiloh Presbyterian Church began meeting in Cary, North Carolina in June 2010 as a mission work of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC). From the outset, the vision was well-defined: faithful, clear, God-centered preaching in the context of Reformed worship for the building up of the saints and the conversion of the lost. Many men gave innumerable hours of labor to the fledgling congregation. Mo

st of those who worked so hard (both in and out of the pulpit) had affiliations with Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Greenville, SC. By March 2011, in the Lord’s providence, Pastor Gabriel Fluhrer became known to the pulpit search committee as a potential pastoral candidate. After a number of visits to North Carolina, it became very clear to both the members of Shiloh and Pastor Fluhrer, that the Lord had placed His call on this man to Shiloh’s pulpit. By May of 2012, Pastor Fluhrer was installed as the organizing pastor of Shiloh OPC. He fervently advocates the original vision of the church: the pre-eminence of God-centered preaching, the distinctives of Reformed theology, and their outflow in Reformed worship. In February 2013, Shiloh Presbyterian Church moved from being a mission work to an organized congregation in the OPC. Pastor Fluhrer was installed as her pastor along with the installation of three ruling elders and three deacons. In April 2014, Shiloh called Reverend Irfon Hughes, previously retired from the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), to serve as associate pastor. That same month, we began meeting at our current location on E. Whitaker Mill Road, in the Five Points district of Raleigh. After meeting for almost four years at an elementary school in Cary, the Lord blessed us with the ability to purchase a permanent location a mile north of downtown Raleigh. Our current facility is in the middle of a neighborhood–just where we want to be in order to minister to those around us! The facility underwent a dramatic facelift during five weeks of church workdays and the blood, sweat and tears (mostly of babies) served to transform the church building into a beautiful, light-filled meeting place. Our desire is for the ministry out of this building to be a beacon of hope to the lost, comfort to the weary, and encouragement to those on the journey. In sum, Shiloh seeks to make Jesus more beautiful and believable to the unconvinced and convinced in Raleigh and beyond! In August 2015, Pastor Fluhrer resigned to accept another ministerial call. In May 2016, Reverend Matthew Holst, formerly of Geneva OPC in Woodstock, GA, was installed as senior pastor of Shiloh. Pastor Hughes continues as associate pastor.

📘 Free eBook: Lectures on Calvinism by Abraham Kuyper

Few books have shaped the Reformed worldview like Abraham Kuyper’s Stone Lectures on Calvinism. Delivered at Princeton University in 1898, these six lectures reveal Calvinism not merely as a theological system, but as a comprehensive vision of life — one that speaks to faith, politics, science, art, and the future of human civilization.

In this new edition, the text has been carefully proofread and restored for accuracy and readability. A meticulous volunteer compared it line-by-line with early PDF editions to correct errors, fix punctuation and spelling issues, and preserve Kuyper’s original phrasing and structure. The result is the cleanest and most faithful digital version yet of this landmark work.

🕮 About the Book:
Kuyper unveils Calvinism as a God-centered worldview that brings unity to all of life. From the sovereignty of God in religion and politics to the divine order revealed in science and art, he shows that every sphere of human endeavor stands under Christ’s lordship.

“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, ‘Mine!’”

Transition in Neon, KY...

(Home Missions Today) Neon, KY — Neon Reformed OPC
Jay & Andrea Bennett

Rev. Jay Bennett gives thanks for recent improvements and opportunities in Neon. “Bollards have been installed for the protection of our storefront! We are thankful. Also, we have put decals on our storefront windows as signage and have reached out to a local artist about painting a sign on the side of our building. We held a special service of thanksgiving on Friday, October 13th to remember and celebrate the Lord’s faithfulness to us in the recovery of our property after last year’s flooding. It was a blessed evening of worship. Our outreach at Neon Days went very well. We opened the church for the public to tour and gave away over 100 pulled pork sandwiches with gospel tracts to community members attending the festival along with much other Christian literature. We also set up a bookstand at the larger Mountain Heritage Festival in Whitesburg, giving away gospel tracts and inviting festival attenders to worship. We shared the gospel with several. We’ve recently been blessed by two new visitors, which has been an encouragement to our congregation.

”Pastor Jay also writes, “I recently received a call to serve as the next pastor of Grace OPC in Lynchburg, VA. It is a bittersweet time for us as we consider leaving behind people we have grown to love so deeply, but we are excited about serving the saints in Lynchburg. The mission work will begin the search for a new evangelist soon. Pray for continued unity and growth as the mission work goes through the pastor search process.”
