Pullen Memorial Baptist Church

Pullen Memorial Baptist Church Social justice-oriented, inclusive, LGBT-affirming, innovative, genuine, courageous, and authentic are words often used to describe our church.

We are a community of faith committed to worshiping God, struggling with difficult questions of faith, building ecumenical and interfaith partnerships, responding to the world's cries for justice, and caring for one another.

This summer, we’re creating a meaningful and joy-filled experience for youth to connect, grow, and explore their faith in a supportive community at the Be Loved Youth Camp (BYC) on June 28 – July 3

Throughout the week, participants will share in conversations, activities, and moments of reflection that center on one important message: you are deeply loved.

BYC is a space where youth can build lasting friendships, have fun, and feel fully welcomed just as they are.

“Racial healing” is a process that can restore individuals and communities to wholeness, repair the damage caused by racism, and transform societal structures to affirm the inherent values of all people. Racial healing can facilitate trust and build authentic relationships that bridge divides created by real and perceived differences. Before we can transform systems and structures, we must start with people.

Having difficult conversations about racism is the first step in the healing process. And healing from the effects of racism takes more than one day! During regular racial healing sessions, participants acknowledge and discuss past wrongs created by individual and systemic racism, addressing present-day consequences for people, communities, and institutions.

What?

Join the Racial Healing Supper Club! This monthly meeting provides a safe space to tackle the “hard issues.” We begin with a potluck meal and time to socialize, followed by a lively conversation where participants are free to disagree respectfully.

Contributions to the potluck are welcome! Bring a dish, snack, or dessert to share. We’ll provide beverages.

When/Where?

• First Thursday of each month from 6–8 pm.
• Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Finlator Hall.
• Parking is available in the two lots on Cox Avenue behind the church.

Who can attend?

Anyone who wants to bring people together, cultivate trust, build relationships, and tell the truth. All ethnicities, ages, and backgrounds are welcome.
