Pilgrim Presbyterian Church

Pilgrim Presbyterian Church Pilgrim Presbyterian Church is centered on the Bible and its message - the good news of the gospel! This is called the regulative principle of worship.

We gather for worship each Lord’s Day, morning and evening, now in our newly rennovated building Worship with us! Pilgrim Presbyterian Church is a member congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (“OPC”), and we’ve been worshipping together for more than forty years in Raleigh. First and foremost, we gather each Lord’s Day in the morning and evening to worship our God. At the center of our

worship is our savior Jesus Christ and the gospel – the good news of what he has done for us by his life, death, and resurrection. We worship our triune God in the ways he commands in scripture (Exodus 25:40, Genesis 4:3-8, Matthew 15:1-14). When you visit our church, you’ll recognize our order of service as traditionally Presbyterian: God speaks, and the congregation responds to his word. We sing from the Trinity Psalter Hymnal. The Lord’s Day is, for Christians, the best day of the week. On that day, we hear the good news preached, we celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, we share Christian fellowship and encourage one another for the week ahead. We believe part of the Great Commission is discipling the members of the church, teaching them to obey all that our Lord teaches in the scriptures. For that reason we have Sunday School for all ages from September through June. Our church is full of children, with our young children and youth often outnumbering adults on Sundays. These young members bring tremendous energy and joy to our congregation. It is our prayer and hope that they will all grow up in Christ, profess faith, and serve their Lord with us in the church. We look forward to welcoming you at Pilgrim and to worshipping our risen Lord together. We gather for worship each Lord’s Day at 5420 Ebenezer Church Rd Raleigh, NC 27612

We encourage you to spend time in family or personal worship on the Lord's Day as we look forward to gathering again the following Sunday.

Please stay warm and reach out to your deacons or elders if you have any urgent needs during the storm.

Pilgrim Presbyterian Church is centered on the Bible and its message - the good news of the gospel (1 Corinthians 15).

The gospel we preach and believe is that God the Father sent his only son Jesus to pay the price for our sins and to rise again from the dead for our salvation.

We hope you’ll join us this Sunday to hear the good news – “that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-5)

Because of that historical fact which demonstrates the eternal love of God, we praise our Lord, obey his word, and love our neighbors.

Q. 22. How did Christ, being the Son of God, become man?
A. Christ, the Son of God, became man, by taking to himself a true body and a reasonable soul, being conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost in the womb of the virgin Mary, and born of her, yet without sin.

"What is the meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ? The birth of Jesus is God's battle cry. The promised Seed of the woman has come. The serpent's head is going to be crushed. Sin will be done away with. God will dwell with blessing in the midst of His people. Yes, for a short while, as a baby. But in time as the victorious King of glory. For this is the destiny of this Child who is the Messiah!" ~ Pastor Casey Bessette

Q. 27. Wherein did Christ's humiliation consist?
A. Christ's humiliation consisted in his being born, and that in a low condition, made under the law, undergoing the miseries of this life, the wrath of God, and the cursed death of the cross; in being buried, and continuing under the power of death for a time.
