New Beginnings is a new church plant and began its kingdom building journey on Sunday May 1, 2016. Dr. Barbara Starr Barner and Deacon Robert E. Barner, cordially invited the community to join in celebrating God’s new church plant and its new beginning. Rev. Dr. Barner hails from Kings Mountain, NC and has resided in Raleigh for eighteen years. She is married to Deacon Robert E. Barner of Shelby,
NC. They are a family of three daughters, a son-in-law, and three grandsons. For the past thirteen years, Rev. Dr. Barner has served as Associate Minister at Malaby’s Crossroads MBC in Knightdale, NC. She holds a BS from Gardner-Webb University in Management Information Systems, a Masters of Divinity from Shaw University Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. The mission of the church is to seek out the lost, preach and teach the Word of God, evangelize, do missions and outreach to the local community. New Beginnings, MBC will be a safe haven for the community’s marginalized and less fortunate. This will be a New Testament church, adhering to Baptist doctrine, with the Bible as it authoritative foundation. The mission will afford the church the opportunity to forge ahead with vision and enthusiasm. In the coming years, there is a great expectancy the new church will build on its strengths in community outreach, evangelism, and spiritual growth and empowerment, and build a legacy of a loving and worship-filled congregation.
