We are saddened to inform you that Charlie Colgan, our Pastor and Shepherd, unexpectedly passed away and went to be with his Lord this Easter Sunday April 9th. His family was by his side along with many loved ones.

This was a shock for all of us, but Charlie faithfully preached the Word until the Lord called him home. The fruit of his Christian leadership is evident as we see how his wife Wendy and their children minister to our congregation through their example of grace and faith.

Charlie would want us to consider a “point to ponder”, Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. - 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 The “point to ponder” is how we can lean on Christ and look to Him for comfort in this difficult time.

Please pray for the Colgan family and for Christ Baptist Church. Details regarding the service are unavailable at this time, but we will inform you of the arrangements when finalized.

Join us for an evening of celebration centered upon the birth of Christ.  Our program is entitled, "Great Glad Tidings." The choirs and orchestra will present Christmas music ranging from time-honored carols to African spirituals.  The congregation will also have an opportunity to join in the festive singing.
