Parenting challenges are often glorified as opportunities for grace, but the narrative about King Ahab serves as a sobering reminder. His alliances and disobedience led to ruin despite God’s repeated offers of mercy. This suggests that reliance on divine patience may not always equate to eventual redemption. As parents, it can be tempting to mistake God's patience for approval or assume that we always have "more time" to address the posture of our hearts and homes. Ahab had front-row access to God's incredible power and mercy, yet he repeatedly chose his own wisdom and worldly alliances over genuine repentance. God’s warnings to Ahab were not meant to be ignored; they were gracious calls to turn back before it was too late. While we rest securely in the gospel, this story urges us not to take God's grace for granted. Let us use the quiet moments this week to examine our own hearts, lead our children with holy intentionality, and respond quickly to the Lord’s gentle prompts. His patience is an invitation to draw near, not an excuse to stay where we are! Important Calendar RemindersNo Discipleship Hour Next Week: There will be no Discipleship Hour this coming Sunday, as it is the first Sunday of the month. No Members' Meeting Next Week: Due to the Labor Day holiday weekend, our Members' Meeting is also postponed.Mark Your Calendars: Our Members' Meeting and Church Anniversary Celebration will take place the following Sunday alongside the return of Discipleship Hour! Navigating parenting while battling culture is like herding cats, kids, or, as I remember from my corporate days, engineers! Between kids echoing "6-7" and those tear-inducing signs of our littles’ budding faith, it is clear God has got our back through every wild moment.

When you are feeling frazzled, remember that even Elijah got a pep talk from above when he was completely drained. God did not push him away. He met him right where he was with quiet grace, gentle care, and fresh strength for the journey ahead.

So take a deep breath, lean on divine help, and embrace the madness with a smile today! You are not doing this in your own strength, and God is faithful to meet us in the middle of all the chaos.

What is one funny or sweet moment with your kids that brightened your week? Drop it in the comments below!

Good morning, IDC Kids Families! ☀️

We hope you all had an incredible weekend! Yesterday in church, we looked at one of the most famous messages in history: Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7; Luke 6).

We learned that Jesus taught how people in God’s kingdom live. Life in His kingdom runs opposite to the world's wisdom, but Jesus showed us that when we follow Him, He changes our hearts so we can live in a way that truly honors and glorifies Him!

Good morning, IDC Kids Families! ☀️

We hope you all had a great weekend! Yesterday in church, we looked at how Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12; Mark 2-3; Luke 6).

We learned that Jesus rules over all creation and cares deeply for our needs! While the Pharisees were focused on strict rules, Jesus showed us that God’s commands are meant to help us and point us to our ultimate need for a Savior.

⛺ Connect Camp is in JUST 7 DAYS!
The countdown is officially on! As we head into the final week of preparation, please join us in praying for the hearts of the kids and leaders. It’s not too late to get involved:

Elementary Schoolers: Secure their spot and sign them up to attend!

High Schoolers: We still need high school volunteers to help us lead and serve.

Good morning, IDC Kids Families! ☀️

We hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Yesterday, we learned about how Jesus Chose Disciples (Mark 2-3; Luke 6).

We discovered that Jesus didn't pick perfect people—He chose everyday sinners, reminding us that He came for the lost, sick, and searching. As He says in Mark 2:17, “I didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners.” What a beautiful picture of His grace!

⛺ Connect Camp is in TWO WEEKS!
Please join us in praying for Connect Camp as we count down the days! We still need your help to make it an incredible week:

Elementary Schoolers: There's still time to sign them up to attend!

High Schoolers: We would love to have them join us as volunteer leaders.

💡 Family Talking Points for the Week:

Preschool/Kids: Jesus invited twelve men to follow Him as disciples.

Big Picture Q&A: What did Jesus teach when He was on earth? Jesus taught about God and His kingdom.

Hey IDC Kids Families! 👋

We hope you all had a fantastic, fun-filled, and safe 4th of July last weekend celebrating with your families! 🎆🇺🇸

As we wrapped up the holiday weekend, we reflected on the incredible truth we learned in church on Sunday. We looked at the story of Jesus Forgiving and Healing the paralytic man (Matthew 9; Mark 2; Luke 5).

We talked about how Jesus didn't just heal the man's physical body—He showed His ultimate power as God by forgiving his sins!

💡 Family Talking Point for this week:

Preschool & Kids: Jesus showed His power by forgiving sin.

Big Picture Question: What did Jesus teach when He was on earth? Jesus taught about God and His kingdom.

As you head into the upcoming week, take a moment to remind your kiddos that the very same Jesus who healed and forgave the man in the story is the same Lord who loves them and desires to forgive and save them today.

👉 Parents: Don't forget to check out The Gospel Project At Home resources for this week's family worship guides and activities! You can also download the lesson resources directly here: Jesus Forgives and Heals.
