Elder Renee Goss leads us into Jonah’s story by bringing us right to the heart of his call—a call that was clear, direct, and deeply uncomfortable.
God didn’t ask Jonah to do something easy; He asked him to go somewhere Jonah didn’t want to go and love people Jonah didn’t want to love. Jonah’s hesitation exposes something familiar in all of us: the tension between God’s voice and our preferences, between His assignment and our comfort.

As Elder Renee opens this teaching, we’re invited to examine how we respond when God calls us beyond what feels safe, familiar, or fair—and to see that His call is always tied to His compassion, His purpose, and His desire to work both through us and in us.
