Thankful for another beautiful day to worship and study God's Word. Bro Paul Massey shared a message from Matthew 14: 22-33. A very familar passage about Peter walking on the water; but he shared it from a totally different perspective. The same account is shared in Mark 6: 45-52 and John 6:15-21. The interesting part is that the book of Matthew is the only one that includes the part about Peter. This occured right after the miracle of feeding the 5000 with two fishes and five loaves. Jesus told his disciples to get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away, and He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. The disciples didn't question Jesus; they didn't ask Him how he would get to the other side or what they were supposed to do. They simply obeyed and got in the boat and started for the other side, under His authority, but in their own power. These men were all fisherman; they knew how to get a boat from one side to the other. When they got to the middle of the sea they were caught in a storm. Jesus saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. He came to them walking on the sea and He would have passed them by. Think about that...the Bible says and He would have passed them by. Why didn't he; because they cried out to Him and they invited Him to join them in the boat. Once they did that He got into the boat with them and immediately the storm ceased. The take away from today's message ...it is important who you invite into your boat! Sometimes as Christians we try to do what we think God wants us to do; but in our own power. When we do that we are rowing against the waves. We have to make sure we invite Jesus to join us in our boat. Question for the week? Who is in your boat? If you don't have a church family we would love to have you join us on Sundays. Sunday School at 9 followed by worhsip at 10. If you need someone to pray for you we would love to to that too. Please feel free to reach out to us with any prayer requests you have.

Today was another great day at Faith Baptist Church! Bro Paul Massey brought a spirit filled message from the Word of God about things that are our's as Christians that we don't claim; like gifts we leave unopened. Gifts that are mean't for us, freely given, but left unopened. Here are just a few of the things we don't claim:
PEACE IN OUR LIVES
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid.
Philippians 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
AN ENERGIZED LIFE
As Christians we are not mean't to live depressed, discouraged lives without direction. God wants to give us direction in our lives, and He will through the Holy Spirit.
Acts 18: 5 When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia , Paul was compelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
POWER
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
What stops us as Christians from claiming these things? Fear! Fear that we may fail, fear that we don't deserve them, and fear that others will judge us. The other thing that stops us is that we are lazy. We don't want to put forth the effort. Ignorance; we don't know because we have not studied God's Word to see what God has for us.
Disobedience; we don't want to do what God wants us to do. We want to do things our way. This week let's not let fear, laziness, ignorance or disobedience keep us from claiming the peace, power and energized life that God has for us.

If you do not have a church to attend tomorrow we would love to have you join us at Faith Baptist Church. Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. followed by worship service at 10 a.m. Bro Paul Massey will be sharing God's Word. Last Sunday's message was on the consequences of sin. Bro Paul made the point that the reason people do not know the consequences of sin is because many people do not even know what sin is. The reason people don't know what sin really is; is because they have a lack of knowledge of God's Word. Luke 23:34 (Jesus's words from the cross) Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." For us to understand what sin is we have to study God's Word. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fell short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Another beautiful Sunday spent in the house of the Lord. Bro Paul Massey brought another spirit filled message that is relevant to what is going on in our world right now. We live in a world that is filled with all kinds of conspiracy therories . As a Christian what should our point of view be concerning all the talk of conspiracies.
First, this is not something new; Isaiah 8:12-14 Do not say, "A conspiracy" concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your dread. He will be as a sanctuary. God wanted His people then to know that no matter what they heard; no matter what was coming He would be their sanctuary. Matthew 24:5-9 When the disciples asked what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of age. Jesus warned them not to be decieved. He said they would hear of wars and rumors of wars. He spoke of famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, and warned that these would be the beginning of sorrows. Does this sound familiar?
Jesus warns that they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. Tribulation started for God's people right after the crucifixion and resurrection. As Christian's we are not exempt from the trials of this world; but our point of view has to be different. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. So as we view the things that are going on around us we need to realize who the enemy is. So how do we battle against this? 2 Corinthians 10: 3-6 reminds us that carnal weapons will not work; God must bring down the strongholds. So we must realize who the enemy is, and who our sanctuary is. Verse for the week John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid.

Another beautiful Sunday! Bro Paul Massey shared another spirit filled message. A very familiar passage in Daniel 3: 16-25 about Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego and the fiery furnace. Three men who refused to worship other gods; they refused to obey a king that told them they had to bow down to a golden image he had created. They showed amazing faith in God! They stood up to King Nebuchadnezzar and told him that their God was able to deliver them from the fiery furnace. The most beautiful part of what they told the king was that they knew their God was able to deliver them; but even if he didn't they still would not bow down and worship other gods or a golden image. Three men were cast into the fire bound; but the king saw four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire not hurt. The king declared that the fourth man is like the Son of God. The fire had no power over the men and the smell of fire was not on them. This is one of many miracles in God's Word. We need to focus not on the miracle itself; but its purpose. God uses miracles as a tool to move us in the direction He wants us to go. This miracle caused the king to have a change of heart about the one true God and changed how he led his people. Important take away from the message: God can and does perform miracles we just need to look for them, and realize they are a tool used to move us closer to God and in the direction He wants us to go. Second we need to realize that these three men were willing to sacrifice their lives for God. God could have kept them from having to enter the fiery furnace at all; but it was part of God's plan to deliver them through the fire. What are we willing to sacrifice for God?
Scripture for the week Hebrews 12: 1-2
If you don't have a church family we would love to have you come and worship with us. Sunday School at 9 a.m. Worship at 10 a.m.

You have to love it when you hear a message that you have heard preached many times on a familiar scripture passage and something new is revealed. Bro Paul Massey brought a very eye opening message on Matthew 13:24-30 on the parable of the wheat and the tares. It is important to understand the difference in the wheat and the tares. The wheat will mature and produce a crop ( bare fruit) while the tares will never bare fruit. Our churches are filled with both wheat and tares ; the Christians who have a true personal relationship with God who will produce fruit for the kingdom and the tares who do not have a personal relationship with God who only have a form of religion. Here was the eye opener take away for me today...the tares don't even realize they are tares. They have a false sense of security and think they are okay.
Scriptures Used:
Matthew 15: 1-8 The True Vine
Matthew 7: 15-19 You will know them by their fruits

If you don't have a church home we would love to have you join us on Sundays. Sunday school starts at 9 followed by worship service at 10 a.m.
Luke 6:46 Why do you call me Lord
Matthew 7: 21-23 Depart from me I never knew you

Sunday's message shared by Bro Paul Massey was on 3 things that will improve our pray life. I don't know anyone who has the perfect prayer life; so this message was important for all of us!
1. We must be saved; God hears the prayers of His children. He does hear the prayer of a lost person who is praying for salvation.
2. To have an effective prayer life we must abide in God's will. To be in God's will He tells us in His word that we must love one another as He has loved us. We can't hold on to unforgiveness in our hearts; we can't hold on to anger and hold grudges.
3. We must pray with the belief in our hearts that God can and will answer our prayers. If we are saved, abiding in God's will , and praying for His will then we can pray with confidence.
Scriptures shared:
1 John 3:22-23
John15: 1-8
Mark 11: 23-26
James 1: 6-8
1 John 5: 14-15

If you don't have a church home we would love to have you join us on Sunday mornings. Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. Worship service starts at 10 a.m.

This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Another great worship time at Faith Baptist Church this morning. Bro Paul Massey shared from Leviticus 6:13 A fire shall always be burning on the altar ; it shall never go out. I encourage everyone to go and study what the altar represents. Our challenge this week is what can we do to make sure we keep our fire burning.
If you do not have a church family; we would love to have you join us next Sunday at 10 a.m.
