Due to the forecast of significant snow accumulation this Sunday, February 22nd, the 9:15am Holy Eucharist service has been canceled. While the timing of the storm may be later than the service time, we are doing this out of an abundance of caution because we want everyone to be safe.

Dogs and their people gathered at St. Martin’s for a blessing of the animals. It was a beautiful day down in the restored stream area. We were surrounded by the birds, insects, and all God’s creatures making a home in the lush habitat. Blessings to all!

Sunday is St. Martins “Blessing of the Animals” in Radnor. Bring your dog or other pet. Photos of beloved pets also are encouraged so we all see the pet being blessed. This year the blessing will be at 11:30 am, after the 9:15 am Eucharist and coffee fellowship. The blessings will take place down near the restored stream area so Fr. Andy can bless bunnies, deer, bees, birds, frogs, and all God’s other creatures thriving in St. Martin’s Park. No pet? No problem. Join us for the event and if you wish bring dry dog food for our food pantry friends.

Amen!

A Statement from Bishop Daniel on the appointment of Bishop Sarah Mullally as the new Archbishop of Canterbury

--

My family in Christ,

The Right Reverend and Right Honorable Dame Sarah Mullally, currently the Bishop of London, has been chosen to become the next Archbishop of Canterbury. In this role, she will serve as the spiritual leader of 85 million members of the Anglican Communion worldwide. This is a historic step for the church to which we belong.

I know Bishop Mullally, and I have sent her a note expressing our congratulations, prayers, and blessings. Suzanne and I had the opportunity to have lunch with her shortly after she was elected Bishop of London, and our paths have continued to cross over the years because of my ministry with the Compass Rose Society. She is wise, compassionate, and deeply faithful. She brings to her faith and ministry all her previous experience as a nurse, and she speaks beautifully of her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Bishop Mullally faces tremendous challenges ahead, given the political, theological, and financial challenges facing the Body of Christ and all of God’s beloved. As Bishop Mullally said in her address today, “Hope doesn’t skip over grief, pain, and the messiness of life but enters into it, and tenderly tells us that God is with us.” God is with us, and we share one hope founded in the Good News of Jesus.

As siblings in Christ in the Anglican Communion, we are called to support and sustain one another. I ask that you pray for this courageous disciple as she accepts this burden and responsibility.

In Christ,

Daniel G.P. Gutiérrez
XVI Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania

Many many thanks to Anne Schmid, founder of Encircled Grace, for leading a labyrinth walk. A beautiful, colorful rope labyrinth was spiritually uplifting for all present including our younger members.
