RECAP — SUNDAY, SEPT. 6
“There is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain!” ⛓️‍💥 🎵
Today’s lesson was the final lesson in our series on “The Northern Kingdom.” Unfortunately, Israel’s disobedience led to God’s judgement through the Assyrians. We talked a lot about sin, judgement, and God’s forgiveness through the activities today.

🎤 We used a mini mic for the first time today in trying to make recordings.
🎥 I had two students helping with media today, and their pictures and videos are included in this recap.

Who is going to Kidz Turn next week at Legacy Church in Wytheville, VA?! Dates: Sept. 13-15th. Time: 6-7:30PM. We have a sign up sheet at the welcome center and kids church for riding the van. 2 information forms will need to be filled out before riding the van. Here is a little glimpse of what it is!

HOSEA, PROPHET TO ISRAEL RECAP 👀
Today’s lesson taught us about how God remains FAITHFUL even when we are not. God used an object lesson, a marriage, to show Israel how they had gotten away from the Lord. It was His desire that they return back to him and stop worshipping idols. Hosea preached a message of repentance to Israel and demonstrated faithful love by marrying someone who was unfaithful to him.
To reinforce these topics, we played a couple’s trivia game, had a wedding between Hosea and Gomer (where she declared “No” to all the vows), and had an altar call recounting the faithfulness of God in our lives.

This is an amazing kids ministry event we support every year because they are the best at reaching kids for Jesus! Think of it like a kids revival! Instead of doing KidsFest in Tennessee, we do Kidz Turn in Wytheville! We love their ministry and know your kids will love it, too.

We will have a sign up sheet for kids needing to ride the van. Please, let us know ASAP if you plan to ride! :)

SUPERBOOK AND SNACKS RECAP! 👀
The kids reinforced their understanding of the Northern Kingdom by learning about Elisha and the axe head that floated, seeing God’s army surpassing the number of those against them, and finding out that Elisha said to feed their enemies with a great feast and sent them back to their master. Jesus also performed many miracles because He was the Son of God!

To reinforce these topics, the kids had a “feast for your enemies” and “axe head floats!” They also played some review games and sang worship songs in addition to learning of the miracles of Jesus in a second Superbook video.

Join the Wednesday night class at 7pm for “Passport through the Bible” and Sunday at 11am as we learn about the book of Hosea!

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH RECAP!
We had 68 kids in attendance today!
Kids led in worship songs with glow gloves, back to school puppet skit, and played a game with glow rings around a giant pencil.
We used glow sticks in our lesson in the shape of an arrow to talk about how our actions point back to Jesus. We can shine brightly for Jesus by being kind to others, being trustworthy, praying for others, reading our Bible, and standing for what is right.
We ended our day with a glow party and fun activities upstairs!

Join us Wednesday at 7PM for Passport through the Bible and next Sunday at 11am for “Superbook and Snacks!”

Attention: Girls Day Out has been postponed for another time. It was scheduled for September 19th. I’ll let you know when the new date is announced!

Sometimes the best plans require a little flexibility.

To make sure as many girls as possible can participate, we’ve made the decision to postpone Girls Day Out. While we’re disappointed to make this change, we’re already working to find a new date that will allow us to gather together for an incredible day.

Thank you for your grace, flexibility, and continued support. We can’t wait to share the new date with you soon—it will be worth the wait! 💕
